Obesity-related health problems are on the rise, with some health experts claiming the condition to be one of the most dangerous health problems confronting public health professionals today. When eating at home, a trick to avoid helping yourself to seconds (or thirds) is to keep serving platters in the kitchen and fill your plate there – not on the table. A recent study showed that people had very skewed perceptions as to the amount of food they had consumed. Most subjects believed to have consumed 1 or 2 portions, but in fact had 3 or 4!
