It's normal to be anxious in the third trimester!

The third trimester can be extremely exciting as the time of birth rapidly approaches. Many parents are looking forward to meeting their baby for the first time and are kept busy preparing for the new arrival by choosing names, buying and making clothes and preparing the nursery.

At the same time, as the baby grows bigger, Mom often becomes more tired. Feet become sore, heartburn and urinary tract problems are common and sleep is more difficult.

As in the first trimester, fears may surface about your ability to care for and protect your child and there may also be concerns and anxiety around the process of birth itself - especially if you are a first time mother!

NaturalEco LastStage Essence contains pure undiluted flower essences of Hyacinth, Jacaranda, Clivia, Wattle and Morning Glory to allay anxiety and fear, improve sleeping and facilitate a quiet confidence and inner peace about the future.

What is LastStage Essence and how can it help you?

Anxiety is a normal, healthy feeling that is experienced by everyone. It is the body's way of reacting to stimulus that pushes us to either "fight" or "flight" over a situation. However, when anxiety attacks are chronic, severe, and irrational, and begin to affect the health of a person (physically, psychologically and emotionally), it already becomes a problem that must be addressed immediately. There is a thick line between healthy and unhealthy anxiety attacks. Unfortunately, the demarcation line is almost ignored that normal anxiety crosses into the territory of anxiety disorders.

Types of Anxiety Disorder

There are six different types of anxiety disorder, each has its own characteristics: generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is a chronic worry or fear over almost everything without even knowing why. They feel anxious from day to day activities and are troubled that bad things will happen. People with GAD show symptoms such as stomach upset, fatigue, restlessness, and insomnia.

Premenstrual syndrome occurs usually between the time of ovulation and the first day of your period. Many women experience a host of symptoms that are attributed to premenstrual syndrome aka PMS.

As long as they don't really interfere with your daily life and hamper activities, PMS is no problem. For extreme symptoms that are severe enough to disrupt life in general may be classified as premenstrual dysphoric disorder or PMDD and a doctor usually must make that diagnosis.

When you have PMDD and self-treatment and lifestyle changes do not alleviate the intensity of symptoms, a doctor will typically talk with you about prescription medication. Certain medications may be needed to interrupt some of the hormones produced by the endocrine system which cause the problems. There is no cure for PMDD or PMS.

With regular PMS symptoms that are tolerable, non-steroid anti-inflammatories can help with cramping and body pains as well as SSRIs also known as serotonin reuptake inhibitors that can help with mood swings. Birth control pills also help with PMS and PMDD symptoms and have few side effects.

Medical research now validates immense physiological benefits from chanting: lowered blood pressure, stabilized heart rate, improved circulation and the production of endorphins, which are the body's natural painkillers and mood enhancers. Music, too, is wonderfully therapeutic and employed in a wide range of applications today, including the treatment of Alzheimer's, sleep disorders and autism. The therapeutic use of music is a tradition that can be traced back to Hippocrates, the father of Western medicine. Medical science also validates the benefits of meditation in supporting healing processes that are preventive as well as curative.

Now, when you take the tremendous appeal of yoga and the growing millions of practitioners across America, and you combine all these approaches (chanting + therapeutic music + meditation + yoga), you get The Yoga of Sound, (New World Library, May 2006), a holistic and evolutionary approach that addresses several unhealthy conditions of modern living and offers a "sound solution" to its problems.
