One thing we all do is eat out. Some of us may not eat out daily or weekly, but every once in a while the idea of not preparing a meal or getting our of our kitchen’s is just to sweet to resist. When we do go out to eat there is rarely a shortage of options. You have nationwide powerhouses like the Darden group who own favorites like Red Lobster and Olive Garden. You also have local options, small businesses among the community battling the chains to survive.

When we choose the majority choose chains. Many might not admit, but data doesn’t lie. Chains are exploding in the country and we need to stop it! Chains are much more unhealthy, less Eco-friendly, and hurt our local economy.

This infographic below shows some data on the number of chain restaurants compared to local eateries. If you scroll down you can see which cities have the most local foods!

Next time you check out restaurant menus online, remember that every chain in the world has the same menu, but the local pub around the corner might have a one of a kind dish!
