Solid Brilliantine

* 1 teaspoon beeswax
* 2 tablespoons mink oil
* 1 tablespoon lanolin
* 2 teaspoons water
* 5 drops orange extract
* 10 drops rum extract
* 10 drops anise extract

Melt beeswax, mink oil and lanolin over hot water in a wide-mouth glass jar until they are thoroughly dissolved and the mixture is clear. Remove the jar from the heat, add water, close the jar tightly, and shake hard. Keep shaking as the mixture cools and the water is absorbed into the oils. Just before the mixture solidifies, add orange, rum and anise extracts. Shake or stir again.

Tips to Help Stop Hair Loss

There are many causes for hair loss and several ways that you can choose from in order to stop hair loss. To stop hair loss, look for the cause and explore other factors that may be contributing to the hair loss.

There may be one cause or several causes that may be identified as the source of hair loss. Possible causes include childbirth, severe infection, high fever, major surgery, major life stress, thyroid disease, and malnutrition especially when protein is lacking from the diet, certain medications can cause hair loss such as those used for acne, arthritis, gout, and psoriasis. Cancer treatment drugs can also cause hair loss as well as birth control pills. Individuals suffering from low serum iron can also experience hair loss.

Another form of hair loss is alopecia areata, which is when round patches of hair loss occur in children, men or women. Infections such as tinea capitus and ringworm can cause pink scaly skin and hair loss.

One tip that many individuals with hair loss follow is to improve blood circulation to the scalp. Poor blood circulation to the scalp can result from wearing tight headgear, stress, a narrowing of blood vessels (atherosclerosis), and smoking. You can increase the flow of blood to your scalp by using hydrotherapy or by using certain herbal remedies.

Tips for Gorgeous Hair That Won’t Cost a Dime

Every woman wants beautiful hair - whether her hair be long, short or in between. And, it’s not just about some glitzy shampoo that a sexy model advertises on TV!

So, what can we do for gorgeous hair?

1) Eat right - as I’ve stated before, it’s supposed to be a duh, but it really is something we Americans struggle with. However, proper nutrition is the cornerstone for health AND beauty.

2) Drink plenty of water - again, a duh - and again, not enough of us do it.

3) Exercise - I know, UGH! But, increased blood flow, better circulation and heart health and better overall health SHOW via our skin, nails and hair.

4) Scalp stimulation. This isn’t just for hair growth, it helps scalp health as well. Here’s a couple of good tips:

a) Sitting comfortably grab handfuls of your hair and *gently* pull straight out. Do this all over your head twice. Try to do this each day - before a shower or washing your hair.

Tips for Hair care

Prologue

Before stepping into the shower, comb your hair lightly with a wide-toothed comb to untangle knots. This aligns the strands and prevents your getting out of the shower with a lot of knots. Begin at the ends and slowly work your way up. Never try to rip through tangles from top to bottom. You’ll end up with a clump of hair on your comb that could have been avoided if only you’d had some patience!

Water

The temperature of the water you use while washing your hair should ideally not be warmer than room temperature. In fact, the best thing would be to use the lowest temperature you can bear. Too cold for you? Well, hair is not sensitive, so you could at least bend over and give the lower part of your hair a final rinse with cold water.

Why cold water?

Because cold water helps the hair scales lie down flat, making them stronger. On the other hand warm water opens the hair scales not only causing more frizz but also making the hair shaft weaker and more vulnerable. In addition, the scalp secretes certain oils that are good for the hair. These oils get dissolved in warm water, causing further dryness. Cold water does not dissolve the natural oils. So make the healthy-hair choice and go in for cold water! Brrrrr!!

Naughty Nits - Natural Help for Lice

Use Naughty Nits to:

* Eradicate Lice & Nits
* Prevent Re-infestation

What is Naughty Nits?

The Naughty Nits is your all-round, safe and natural option for the eradication and prevention of lice.

Just talking about lice and nits is enough to make you feel all itchy and produce that ‘icky’ feeling, but recurring infestation with head lice is extremely common, particularly during the early school years. Lice and nits are an almost inevitable part of growing up and can infest even the cleanest of children.

Repeated exposure to the dangerous chemicals in over the counter treatments and lice shampoos can be more harmful to your child than to the lice themselves, not to mention the fact that the lice are becoming increasingly resistant to these chemicals. Lice can be extremely difficult to eradicate and often one or two lice are missed during shampooing and household cleaning. Luckily Native Remedies is there to help control and prevent lice naturally!

The herbal and aromatherapeutic ingredients in our Naughty Nits products are 100% safe and natural and contain no toxic chemicals. This means that you can confidently and safely use these products on your child as often as you need to.
