Energy Technique for Pain

Here’s an energy technique you can try. Rub your hands together and then shake them off. Then place your left hand a few inches out from the painful area.

Make counterclockwise circles over the painful area (a few inches out – not actually touching) for up to about 3 minutes. The clock would be on the body part in pain, facing out, so that you could read the clock when looking at the painful body area.

Your left hand tends to draw energy to it, and counterclockwise circles tend to pull energy out. Let your right hand hang out from your body, so it is not touching you or the person in pain if you are treating someone else, because the energy you are pulling out will tend to go through you and exit out your right hand. After 2 or 3 minutes of counter-clockwise circles, shake your hands off to get rid of any energy stuck on them.

Now take your right hand, and make clockwise circles over the same area, for no more than half the time you spent going counterclockwise. Clockwise circles with the right hand are for delivering new, fresh energy to the area, and smoothing it over.

Professional Supervision in Polarity Therapy

by John Beaulieu, N.D., Ph.D.

Professional supervision is receiving professional support for all aspects of your Polarity practice. I was introduced to professional supervision while working as a therapist in psychiatric hospitals. I was required by law to receive at least one hour of supervision each week for every 25 hrs of patient interaction. I saw four different therapist/supervisors over a three-year period. During these sessions I would discuss my interactions with patients, ward policies, emotions, thoughts, goals, and in general anything needing clarity.

Looking back on my supervision sessions I have no doubt they helped me grow both professionally and personally. When I entered private practice I continued having supervision every week for over four years. I am now entering my twenty-fifth year of healing arts practice and I still have two supervisors I can call upon to help me with my polarity therapy practice and teaching.

I tell my students that practicing Polarity Therapy without proper supervision is like swimming alone in an ocean of unpredictable currents. Professional supervision is a key to professional success and peace of mind. It is important to know when and how to utilize professional supervision.

The Care and Feeding of a Healer

AH, THE AGE OLD TRUISM of the plumber’s house; its faucets leak and the toilet is plugged. Then there is the electrician’s family, dining by candlelight, the painter’s leprous looking house, and the car mechanic whose wife gets stranded by the family vehicle. Until something becomes an emergency, it can wait. Who wants to continue working on their time off?

Ever hear of the massage therapist in a cast from carpal tunnel syndrome? How about the energy therapist with migraines? Or the lightworker who needs anger management? We, who are perpetual caretakers of others, are especially guilty of putting our selves last on the maintenance list. In reality, this line of thinking is not only backwards; it’s destructive. Our primary responsibility should be to ourselves – to be as healthy as we possibly can be, so that we can then help others. What good are we incapacitated or unwilling to do our own inner work?

Scientists Discover Human Hands Emit Light Energy

Human hands glow, but fingernails release the most light, according to a recent study that found all parts of the hand emit detectable levels of light.

The findings support prior research that suggested most living things, including plants, release light. Since disease and illness appear to affect the strength and pattern of the glow, the discovery might lead to less-invasive ways of diagnosing patients.

Mitsuo Hiramatsu, a scientist at the Central Research Laboratory at Hamamatsu Photonics in Japan, who led the research, told Discovery News that the hands are not the only parts of the body that shine light by releasing photons, or tiny, energized increments of light.

“Not only the hands, but also the forehead and bottoms of our feet emit photons,” Hiramatsu said, and added that in terms of hands “the presence of photons means that our hands are producing light all of the time.”

The light is invisible to the naked eye, so Hiramatsu and his team used a powerful photon counter to “see”it.

The detector found that fingernails release 60 photons, fingers release 40 and the palms are the dimmest of all, with 20 photons measured.

What are Chakras?

Chakras are basically subtle energy channels that run through the body, located in different areas of the body. There are many chakras throughout the body but the ones I will mention here are known as the “classical chakra system” and I’ve heard it also referred to as “the basic chakra system”.

The Basic Chakra System:

There are 7 main chakras that are located vertically up the spine starting at the base of the spine and all the way up to the crown area (actually believed to be about 4 finger widths above the head) of the head. They are located in the center of the body and open on both the front and the back side of the body. Starting at the base of the spine they are known as, The Base or Root Chakra and it is Red, The second chakra above this is known as the Sacral Chakra and it is orange, the next above this is the Solar Plexus Chakra and it is Yellow, the next above this is the Heart Chakra and it is green, the next above this is the Throat chakra and it is light blue, the next above that is the Brow (sometimes known as the 3rd eye) Chakra and it is Indigo, and the last is the Crown Chakra and it is Bright white, although colors of purple and gold are also seen in this area.( We colored it purple in our diagram)

Strengthening and Protecting Your Aura

Proper diet, exercise, and fresh air are very important. Limit your use of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs as they will weaken your aura. Stress, mental disorders, emotional trauma, worry and fear will also weaken your aura.

To strengthen your aura you should get plenty of physical exercise, cleanse the bowels to remove toxins, and meditate. Music can be very helpful in strengthening an aura (especially Gregorian Chants for 10 min. a day). If you wish to listen to something other than the chants try classical or elemental music that you like.

Fragrance is another good way to strengthen your aura. Smudging with sage is highly recommended. Incense and essential oils can help counter disease and illness. Sage and Sweet grass should be used for cleansing and balancing and frankincense for cleansing and protection.

Quartz Crystals at least 1 inch work well to strengthen your aura. Double terminated Quartz (point out of both ends) should be carried in one’s pocket for maximum protection

The Pentacle of Healing

By Selena Fox, Circle Magazine

Healing is a journey from illenss to wellness. Helaing is rebalancing and renewing. Healing is transformational and multidimensional.

The multidimensionality of healing is also known as holistic. Holsitic healing recognizes that restoring well being includes more than treating phsyical disease. When there is physical illness, other dimensions of self and life also are impacted, inclduing mood, thinking, activity, and soul.

As a preistess, psychotherapist, and counselor, I serve as both a catalyst and a guide in doing healing wiork with others. Drawing from my background in Wiccan spirituality and Paganism, and my Psychology studies and practive over the past thirty-five years, I have developed a holistic framework that I call the Pentacle of Healing. The Pentacle is a five-pointed interlaced Pentagram within a Circle. Each of the five points of the Pentagram represetns a dimension of healing, and the Circle represents the harmonious integration and functioning of these dimensions.

I use the Pentacle of Helaing framework for assessment as well as for considering treatment options. I share here some of the questions to ask in working with each healing dimension. I also include several examples of healing modalities that might be used in treating problems in each.

Become a Better Caregiver

We tell others that everything will be okay when they experience life-altering situations.  The truth is that it is hard to understand their plight.  Learn how to empathize with your loved one and become a better caregiver.

It sounds nice to say something when someone is hurting, but saying the wrong thing can be just as bad as saying nothing at all.  Instead of speaking words devoid of meaning, show that you know how that person feels.  A loved one needs to know that someone is trying to see things from their perspective.

Here are a few tips to help you become that better caregiver your loved one needs right now.

1.  Know the signs.  When a person experiences an illness or accident that leaves them disabled physically or mentally, they go through a variety of emotions.  The first is unbelief.  Their accident was a bad dream and they want to wake up.  A loved one dealing with physical challenge will have periods of denial, anger, depression, self-loathing, and indifference.  Dealing with those phases won’t be easy but knowing what they are can help.
