Although some people recommend other forms of exercise such as running or cycling, there is evidence that suggests that these may not be a great idea for people who struggle with anxiety.

High intensity workouts can actually raise the levels of cortisol, or stress hormone in your brain, making your feelings of panic worse, rather than better.

The same is said of raising your heart rate too high. Though it may feel good at the time, these behaviors can actually increase the frequency of anxiety attacks and damage your brain’s ability to manage stress levels in the long term.

Not everyone thinks of exercise as fun or entertaining, and if you struggle to get moving on your best days, it may be even more difficult to accomplish during an attack. Try coming up with creative ways to work out that sound fun to you.

When you invest in something like a jump rope or a hula-hoop, it becomes difficult to distinguish between toys and exercise equipment, and making this sort of activity a habit is healthy in many ways. Youtube is also filled with workout videos geared toward every level of experience and energy, with a wide range of fitness techniques.
