Mangosteen: The Miracle Fruit?

“Learn to live with it.” That’s what Mike’s doctor told him when he just couldn’t get rid of the chronic pain in his shoulders, a result of years playing professional baseball. He was also told that the prescription anti-inflammatory drugs he was on would eventually destroy his liver. Mike quit the drugs immediately. But chronic inflammation flared up like a fire inside his body. To top it off, Mike battled severe acid reflux disease and persistent allergies. He felt 30 years older than the 60 years his birth certificate showed. Inflammation’s Double-Edge Sword Inflammation is our body’s natural response to injury and infection. It’s a necessary process for protecting and repairing our bodies. However, chronic inflammation like Mike’s can significantly and adversely affect our body’s cells

Hypnosis for the Treatment of Pain

Do you ever feel like you’re always in pain? That nothing ever helps? Did you know that these mantras in your brain, the ones which keep repeating these negative messages, actually help keep you locked in a cycle of pain? One of the most powerful ways to treat pain is to teach your mind and body to control it. That’s where hypnosis comes in. It helps you overcome this onslaught of negative self-input and replace it with focused, positive thought. In effect, hypnosis changes the mantras in your brain. And once you replace the bad with the good, you have already turned the corner away from pain and towards lasting relief. Even conventional medicine recognizes the power of hypnosis While the concept of hypnosis dates back to at least the 11 th century AD, hypnosis only gained widespread acceptance as a medical technique over the past century

This time, it was worse. Her doctor could find no specific cause of her pain. After prescribing pain-killers, he sent Joan home. The pain-killers brought little relief, but some uncomfortable side effects.

Wash, Rinse and Repeat: Is Your Shower Toxic?

Your hair looks glossy, feels clean, and smells like a mountain breeze. What could possibly be wrong? What if the next time you used your “herbal” shampoo, you read a warning label on the bottle that revealed some of the ingredients are commonly used as industrial solvents linked to cataracts, cancer, and even blindness? Would you still use it? What does your label say? Go grab a bottle from your bathroom and see if any of these potentially hazardous ingredients are listed: DEA, TEA, Sodium lauryl sulfate, Sodium laureth sulfate, or Propylene glycol. Every one of those ingredients has been linked to potential harm – as either being carcinogenic (causes cancer), a neurotoxin (brain damage), or having the potential to cause birth defects. Are you sure you want to put that on your skin? Or even worse, your child’s skin

Are Whole Eggs or Egg Whites Better for You?

by Mike Geary, Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer Author – The Truth About 6-Pack Abs I was on a weekend trip with some friends recently and one of my friends was cooking breakfast for the whole group. I went over to see what he was cooking and saw he was getting ready to make a big batch of eggs. Well, to my shock and horror, I noticed that he was cracking the eggs open and screening the egg whites into a bowl and throwing out the egg yolks. I asked him why the heck he was throwing out the egg yolks, and he replied something like this… “because I thought the egg yolks were terrible for you…that’s where all the nasty fat and cholesterol is”. And I replied, “you mean that’s where all of the nutrition is!” This is a perfect example of how confused most people are about nutrition. In a world full of misinformation about nutrition, somehow most people now mistakenly think that the egg yolk is the worst part of the egg, when in fact, the YOLK IS THE HEALTHIEST PART OF THE EGG! By throwing out the yolk and only eating egg whites, you’re essentially throwing out the most nutrient dense, antioxidant-rich, vitamin and mineral loaded portion of the egg. The yolks contain so many B-vitamins, trace minerals, vitamin A, folate, choline, lutein, and other powerful nutrients… it’s not even worth trying to list them all. In fact, the egg whites are almost devoid of nutrition compared to the yolks

Why I’m Glad John Won’t Buy Our Products

We got an email from John this week. Even though John has suffered from lower back pain and sciatica for 18 years, he wrote specifically to tell us some “bad news” – he has no intention of buying ANY of our products! But honestly, we couldn’t be happier. We’ll let John explain… Hi Jesse, I suffered from sciatica and lower back pain (herniated disc) for 18 years. I was in a desk bound job sitting in front of a computer screen all day. I ate the wrong food (at the wrong times of the day); drank too much alcohol; not enough water; didn’t get enough exercise, and I was working in a very stressful environment. So, I found your website and started to look for solutions. The first thing I did was to take your advice.
