Healing More Quickly With Herbs

Filed under: Herbs and Health — Administrator @ 2:29 pm

All about healing

Healing after Surgery, injury or childbirth (including Caesarean birth) can be a slow and painful process. Depending on the extent of the injury or operation, this can take days or even months. There may be internal or external wounds and Bruising – or even (in the case of injury) broken bones and damaged organs.

Healing is a process which takes place on many levels – physically and psychologically. Connective tissue, blood vessels and nerve fibers have to restore themselves and regenerate. White blood cells have to remove infection and red blood cells have to bring oxygen rich blood and nutrients to the surrounding area. Rest is important – as is a peaceful and positive mind. Effective pain control helps to make the person comfortable, prevents Stress and permits healing rest.

How can Natural Remedies help?

Our bodies have an inbuilt ability to heal themselves which is one of the greatest miracles of nature! Provided that we receive proper care and nurturing, healing will take place by itself.

Natural Remedies can harness the body’s innate healing mechanisms, speeding up the Healing Process while also providing pain relieving, Anti-Inflammatory and soothing properties. Best of all, they can do this without the side effects and complications sometimes associated with many prescription drugs.

What is RealHeal Plus?

RealHeal Plus is a unique herbal and homeopathic complex formula containing ingredients chosen for their rapid healing, pain relieving and Anti-Inflammatory properties.

RealHeal Plus is taken internally to promote faster and more comfortable healing. It is effective in speeding up the Healing Process after Surgery, childbirth (including Caesarean birth) or injury, and will also promote Faster Healing of Bruising.

RealHeal Plus tablets may also be effectively used along with our RealHeal Plus Massage Oil – used topically to soothe and promote surface healing.

What are the ingredients of RealHeal Plus?

RealHeal Plus contains the following ingredients in our unique herbal and homeopathic complex formula:

Arnica D6: – is a highly respected ingredient in Homeopathic Medicine and has powerful Anti-Inflammatory and tissue healing properties. It is used extensively to treat shock, injury and for post-operative care and also helps to control bleeding. It is often prescribed to help with post-childbirth pain, as well as joint and Muscle Pain and Fever. Although this herb is potentially toxic in its raw state and is therefore only used externally, homeopathic manufacturing methods ensure that Arnica is safe to use internally.

Filipendula almaria: – also known as Meadowsweet, is a herb which has been used for centuries by herbalists to treat Fever and pain. Modern science reveals that this herb contains salicylates – a natural chemical similar to the pharmaceutical aspirin. Unlike, aspirin, however, Meadowsweet has pain relieving and Anti-Inflammatory properties without side effects such as stomach ulcers and the risk of Reynaud’s Disease, associated with the use of pharmaceutical aspirin.

Magnesium phosphoricum D6: – is a biochemic tissue salt found naturally occurring in the body. It is known as the ‘homeopathic aspirin’ due to its unique pain killing and curative properties and is also an effective muscle relaxant, preventing and treating spasms and Cramps and promoting Relaxation.

Symphytum officinale: – also called Comfrey, contains allantoin – a chemical which encourages bone, cartilage and muscle cells to grow. This explains why Comfrey is called ‘knitbone’ by traditional healers, helping to heal wounds and Injuries of all kinds.

Matricaria recutita C6: – is known for its soothing, Anti-Inflammatory and pain relieving properties.

lactose: – (inactive ingredient)

(RealHeal Plus contains no gluten, artificial flavors, colors or preservatives)

Adrenal Disorders - A Hidden Problem

Filed under: Herbs For Health — Administrator @ 8:33 am

What do your Adrenal Glands do?

The Adrenal Glands are two walnut-sized structures situated above each of your two kidneys. They consist of two separate regions: an inner adrenal medulla surrounded by an outer adrenal cortex.

The function of the Adrenal Glands is performed by a wide variety of hormones released by these structures and is mostly directed at the physiological response to Stress. The medulla is responsible for producing epinephrine and norepinephrine (adrenaline), which control the body’s reaction to Stress and affect blood pressure, heart rate and sweating.

The adrenal cortex produces hormones such as cortisone and aldosterone which are necessary for fluid and electrolyte (salt) balance in the body as well as regulating the use of dietary protein, fats and carbohydrates and controlling inflammation.

What can go wrong with your Adrenal Glands?

As with all structures of the body, the Adrenal Glands are subject to a range of disorders and diseases.

Major health problems can occur when the Adrenal Glands produce too many or too few hormones. Two disorders caused by impaired functioning of these glands are Addison’s disease and Cushing’s syndrome. Addison’s disease is caused by damage or disease to the Adrenal Glands, resulting in a deficiency of the hormone cortisol. The overproduction of cortisol by the Adrenal Glands leads to Cushing’s syndrome.

Cushing’s syndrome may also result when steroid drugs (such as hydrocortisone, prednisone or dexamethasone) are taken over a prolonged period or at high doses. These steroid hormones are often used to treat inflammatory illnesses such as asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis and inflammatory bowel diseases.

Additionally, long-term treatment with these medications can inhibit normal pituitary function (which usually controls the adrenals) and cause secondary Adrenal Insufficiency. Adrenal Insufficiency or Adrenal fatigue is a common problem characterized by a deficiency of the hormones produced by the Adrenal Glands.

High Stress levels, which are often accompanied by an unhealthy lifestyle, can weaken the Adrenal Glands. When Stress continues over a long time, the Adrenal Glands’ response to this Stress can deplete the body’s hormonal and energy reserves, and the glands may either shrink in size or hypertrophy (enlarge). The overproduction of adrenal hormones caused by prolonged Stress can weaken the Immune System, disrupt the Metabolism, cause weakness, fatigue and a feeling of being run down. It can also interfere with normal sleep and cause a light and unrelaxing sleep state which can make one feel worn out even after a full night’s sleep.

Adrenal Insufficiency is sometimes linked to chronic fatigue and Thyroid Problems as well.

What are the symptoms of Adrenal Disease?

Adrenal Disease may often go unnoticed until far advanced. When symptoms do appear they are often vague and may include:

  • Fatigue
  • Loss of energy
  • Decreased Immune System with recurrent illness
  • Nausea and Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Loss of appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Muscle weakness
  • Dizziness on standing up
  • Anxiety and Depression
  • Decreased tolerance to cold
  • Hair Loss in women
  • Increased pigmentation of skin

How is Adrenal Disease diagnosed?

Adrenal Disease is most commonly diagnosed based on laboratory tests which measure the levels of adrenal hormones (Specifically cortisol) in the blood.

How is Adrenal Disease usually treated?

The specific type of treatment usually prescribed for Adrenal Disease will be based on the underlying cause. Treatment generally takes the form of synthetic hormones which increase the low levels in the body or hormone inhibiting drugs- depending on the disease. Treatment is usually lifelong unless the cause of the disease is removed, such as a tumor which is surgically removed or treated with radiation or chemotherapy.

Can Natural Remedies help?

As adrenal damage and adrenal fatigue are so often caused by a stressful and unhealthy lifestyle, it is logical that this situation can be best treated and improved with a holistic and natural approach. One’s overall health, as well as the well-being and optimum functioning of the Adrenal Glands, should be addressed.

Certain herbal ingredients are well-known for their tonic effect on the Adrenal Glands and improving ability to cope with Stress. Relaxation methods and reducing Stress in ones daily life, as well as eating a healthy, balanced diet and exercising regularly can all be of great benefit to Adrenal Disease.

How has AdrenoBoost helped others?

“I have been using your AdrenoBoost for a few months now and although I was skeptical that it would help, I was desperate! I have worked in a highly-pressurized, corporate environment for more than a decade and, being a woman, always felt the extra pressure to prove myself as well! All this Stress started to catch up with me in a big way and I began to see my health deteriorate dramatically. My hair was falling out, I lost too much weight and I was always tired no matter how early I got to bed. After a few weeks of using AdrenoBoost and trying to eat more healthily I started to notice a difference: less hair in the shower, I stopped getting every cold that was going around the office and, for the first time in years, I woke up feeling refreshed in the morning. I had forgotten what that felt like! Thank you for an amazing product- it has helped me to regain control.” Debra, USA

“After feeling run-down and generally not myself for almost a year, my doctor suggested I might have Adrenal Fatigue. Having always been one to avoid prescription drugs, I started researching natural products to help my condition. I came across your site and ordered the AdrenoBoost- am I glad I did! I haven’t had such energy and Stamina since my 20’s!” James F, 52 years old.

“I am going to stock up on your AdrenoBoost remedy- I don’t quite know how I survived without it.” Ian, USA

“Five years ago I was diagnosed with Addison’s disease and it was almost a relief to find out that there was something very real wrong with my body. I was put on corticosteroid drugs which helped, but every time I had something stressful happen in my life or I got the Flu I felt like I was back to square one and the doctor had to increase my dose. I didn’t want to be so dependant on these drugs and started to look into alternative treatment. I found your product on the internet and showed the information to my doctor- he was cynical but said I could try it as long as it was under his monitoring. After a few months on AdrenoBoost we had to drastically reduce my steroid medications and I felt better than I had in a long time. My doctor was impressed and so am I! Thank you so much for providing a safe and effective alternative, I am going to tell everyone I know about your Natural Remedies.” K.D.

Making Flower Essences

Filed under: Reference Articles — Administrator @ 1:11 pm

Time Required:4-6 hours

Here’s How:

1. On a sunny day, go to the flower site with water and bowl. 2. Fill bowl about half full. 3. float flowers on the water, covering the surface area. 4. Leave the bowl of flowers in the area amoung the flowers 3-4 hours or more if clouds move in. 5. Take the bowl to a safe and quiet area, or fill bottles in the same location. 6. Carefully remove flowers from the water. 7. Using the coffee filter, filter the water into a clean bottle. 8. Using your colored bottle/s, fill 1/2 with vodka or brandy. 9. Carefully fill the remaining half with the flower essence and cap. 10. Label, and keep in a cool place away from electrical sources.

1. It is important to ask permission from the flowers to use their essence. Use intuition or any other methods you may use to communicate with them. Thank them when you are done. Most of our traditional healers asked permission and thanked the earth when taking game or Herbs. 2. Leave more flowers than you take. If there are not enough flowers, move on or wait. Imagine the energies being produced from a field of wildflowers, verses only 5. 3. The mother essence can be recharged by gently shaking the bottle and tapping the bottom against your hand. 4. To dilute into a stock essence, add 5-7 drops of mother essence into a bottle of 50/50 water/alcohol. The vibration will be carried over. Some say it is even more potent (less is more).

What You Need:

  • Clear glass bowl
  • Unbleached coffee filter
  • Purified water
  • Sterilized colored bottle
  • Glass dropper or funnel

Recognizing the Risks and Side Effects of Adderall and the Symptoms of Adderall Withdrawal

Filed under: Parenting Corner — Administrator @ 12:27 am

by Tess Thompson

If your child has been diagnosed with ADHD or ADD, you may have explored the option of treating him or her with a prescription stimulant drug like Adderall. Stimulants are commonly prescribed by doctors for children with ADHD because they have been found to be predominantly safe and effective in treating the symptoms of the condition. They do, however, carry a risk of side effects which can vary in intensity with each person.

Stimulants increase brain activity, which in turn can increase a child’s ability to pay attention, and Adderall is a popular child ADHD treatment—about 1 million U.S. children currently take it or its time-released sibling, Adderall XR. Many Adderall users report minor side effects such as loss of appetite, weight loss, Insomnia, dizziness and Headaches. Although less frequently reported, other side effects include Irritability, nervousness, feelings of suspicion or paranoia and Restlessness.

There are some serious side effects of Adderall that are reported rarely. The most alarming of these are Tourette’s Syndrome, hallucinations, High Blood Pressure, and rapid heart rate. Any side effects, mild or severe, should be immediately reported to your child’s physician.

Adderall is a methamphetamine, and so also carries a risk of addiction. Patients should take the lowest effective dosage, and because each person reacts differently to this medication, it can take some time to figure out what that is. Although Adderall abusers are usually adults, if your child has become disturbingly aggressive or Irritable, it could be a sign that he or she is abusing the drug, or has been prescribed an incorrect dosage.

If your child is abusing Adderall, abruptly stopping high dosages of the medication can lead to signs of Adderall withdrawal, which can include extreme fatigue and Depression. In the most severe but rare cases, patients have reported psychosis.

Many find Adderall to be an effective treatment for ADHD and decide it is worth enduring minor side effects, but parents should think hard about the risks involved. This year, Canada pulled Adderall from the market after reports of 20 deaths. They have recently decided to put the drug back on the shelves again because of new research that shows the drug to be safe. However, all stimulants carry a small risk of death, especially among those with heart problems.

There are some natural ingredients that have proven effective in the treatment of ADHD symptoms, and which you may decide to try before prescription medication. Some of the best ingredients are Centella Asiatica (also called Gotu Kola), Green Oats (also called Avena Sativa) and Panax Ginseng. Many herbal and Homeopathic Remedies contain these ingredients and can be a safe alternative to Adderall, should you decide stimulant drugs are not the right choice for your child.

Natural Solutions For Kidney Health

Filed under: Herbs For Health — Administrator @ 10:17 pm

What do your Kidneys do?

The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs in your abdomen which form a part of the urinary tract. They are responsible for filtering waste products and useful chemicals from your blood and eliminating the waste products into the urine. Without the kidneys, waste products and toxins would soon build up in the blood to dangerous levels and damage your body.

Your kidneys regulate the body’s level of necessary substances like water, sodium and potassium. The correct balance of such substances is vital for your body to function healthily, but excess amounts can be harmful.

As well as removing wastes, the kidneys are also responsible for releasing vital hormones. Renin is a hormone important in regulating salt levels and blood pressure. Erythropoietin is vital in the process of red blood cell formation in the bone marrow.

The kidneys also produce the biologically active form of Vitamin D which is used for absorbing calcium and maintaining the health and strength of your bones.

What can go wrong with your Kidneys?

As with all organs of the body, the kidneys are subject to a range of disorders and diseases. Kidney Damage usually takes place gradually and without symptoms and it may only be after years of Kidney Disease that Kidney Functioning becomes noticeably decreased. Some people are born with only one kidney or donate one of their kidneys to a family member or friend. These people can live healthy and normal lives as long as their remaining kidney stays healthy. In Kidney Disease one can lose more than 75% of Kidney Functioning before the effects become obvious.

The two most common causes of Kidney Disease are Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. If you or your family has a history of these diseases, you may be at risk for kidney problems. Some kidney diseases are inherited, for example Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). Infection, direct injury, poisons and drugs (Like prescription or over-the-counter painkillers) can also lead to serious Kidney Damage or dysfunction.

All of the above disorders and diseases can lead to decreased Kidney Function or kidney (renal) failure. This may happen suddenly (Acute Renal Failure) or, more commonly, gradually over years of disease (Chronic Renal Failure).

Kidney Stones are also a very common problem. These are formed by clumps of Crystals which can block the urinary system. Depending on the size of a Kidney Stone, it may be passed out in the urine unnoticed or cause severe pain- some may even require Surgery.

What are the symptoms of Kidney Disease?

In the early stages of Kidney Disease, many people experience no symptoms at all. As Kidney Functioning deteriorates one may develop the following problems:

How is Kidney Disease diagnosed?

Although there are a number of tests that may be done to establish Kidney Disease, the urine sample your doctor takes is a common way that kidney problems may be first identified. For example, blood, protein, or white blood cells in the urine may indicate injury, infection, or inflammation of the kidneys, and glucose in the urine may be an indication of Diabetes.

How is Kidney Disease usually treated?

The treatment of Kidney Disease will depend on the specific condition and may involve a number of prescription drugs including antibiotics and steroids. The control of blood pressure and Diabetes also plays a major role in preventing further damage to diseased kidneys. In the case of kidney failure, dialysis (filtering of the blood by an artificial kidney machine) is required. In severe and irreversible cases of kidney failure, kidney transplant may be necessary.

Can Natural Remedies help?

If left untreated, Kidney Disease can become irreversible and can be a significant threat to your health. People with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure or a family history of Kidney Disease also need to actively prevent Kidney Disease and keep these organs in optimum condition.

Kidney problems respond well to complementary medicine and a holistic approach (including diet). These will improve Kidney Functioning and ultimately decrease the need for prescription drugs or Surgery.

What are the ingredients of Kidney Dr.?

Kidney Dr. contains the following ingredients in our unique 100% herbal formula:

Agathosma betulina: – also called Buchu is a urinary antiseptic and possesses Diuretic properties. Buchu has been used by the natives of the Western Cape of Southern Africa for many centuries. Early Dutch settlers used buchu to make a brandy tincture and Boegoebrandewyn (buchu brandy) is still used today to treat many disorders.

Berberis vulgaris:-also called Barberry, has been used medicinally for thousands of years and has documented use in Ancient Egypt – where it was used by pharaohs to ward off the plague. Berberine alkaloids contained in Barberry have demonstrated antibacterial and infection-fighting properties, stimulating microphages (white blood cells) to fight off infection and improving Immune Functioning. Barberry is also used extensively for Kidney Disease, Kidney Stones, gallbladder problems and enlarged spleen.

Polygonum multiflorum: also called He-shou-wu or Fo ti, is an important blood tonic in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is often prescribed for kidney and liver problems, to strengthen the blood, invigorate the liver and kidneys and revitalize the system. Studies also suggest that Fo ti has the ability to stimulate Immune Functioning, lower cholesterol and increase red blood cell formation.

Schizandra chinensis: also called Wu-wei-zi, is a well known adaptogen which benefits all body systems and overall systemic health and functioning. Wu-wei-zi has a wide variety of therapeutic benefits and is an excellent kidney tonic. Added benefits include increased energy, strengthened Immune Functioning and greater ability to cope with Stress. Trigonella foenum-graecum: – also called Fenugreek, has proven benefits for a wide variety of problems including Diabetes, High Cholesterol and Atherosclerosis. How has Kidney Dr. helped others?

“As I have been Diabetic for many years now, I became concerned about the health of my kidneys. I know that Diabetes can damage the kidneys and I have also always experienced Urinary Tract Infections, which I know can become very serious if they spread to the kidneys. On your consultant’s advice I have been using your UTI-Clear and Kidney Dr. remedies. No more UTI’s (which is great) and, even better, I know that my kidneys will serve me well for many years to come!” June, CA

“I started using your Kidney Dr. remedy when I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure. As I am also Diabetic and my mother died from renal failure, I’m at high risk for Kidney Disease and was very keen to do anything I could to look after my kidneys. I have been using your Kidney Dr. for a few weeks now and I must say it is wonderful- I already feel healthier and imagine my surprise when my doctor told me my cholesterol levels were down. (Yes, I also have High Cholesterol!) Many thanks for a great product!” RM, UK

“Several months ago I donated one of my kidneys to my son. Although I would do it again in the blink of an eye, I felt pretty awful afterwards- apart from the pain of Surgery of course. I wanted to help my remaining kidney to start compensating as soon as possible as well as keep it in peak health. I came across your Kidney Dr. and ordered it immediately. I am so pleased I did because it has helped me tremendously. I feel as well as I did with both kidneys- better in fact.” Don, USA
