Add to the bath or put on section of paper towel so you can benefit by inhalation. Inhale frequently. Place on Pillow beside nose. This opens the sinuses and helps clear the head of congestion. Eucalyptus is also a natural antiseptic.

Bronchitis is caused by congestion and inflammation of the bronchial passage ways in the lungs. It can be caused by a viral infection or Allergens or sometimes something even unknown.
It can make it difficult to breath. Especially, if the mucous is thick and sticky. It becomes very difficult to cough it up and get it out of your chest.
It can be caused by Allergens and/or infections. It can be an acute attack – sudden onset, as seen with Colds and upper respiratory or it can be chronic – which could be due to a lingering bacterial infection or due to irritations from environmental exposure to dust and other pollutants.
There are several Essential Oils that can help with bronchitis. There are many Essential Oils that can help loosen the mucous and make the cough more Productive. And to prevent it in the first place there are several Essential Oils to help build the Immune System.
You can use Essential Oils in a bowl of warm to fairly hot water, drape a towel over your head and breathe in deeply for 10-15 minutes. Or you can use several of the oils in the bath or shower. In the shower an easy way to diffuse them is to place several drops on a terra cotta passive type Diffuser and let the warm water hit the Diffuser while it sits on the shower stall floor. Of course, be careful not to step on the small disk. Using the Essential Oils in a bath or shower will give you some quick relief.
You can diffuse the oils in your bedroom all night using a fan Diffuser.
Or you can mix a little with a Carrier Oil and apply to your chest, neck, and the bottom of your feet. When you apply the oils mixed with a little carrier or massage oil, your body will absorb and be able to use the oils at the cellular level to help heal and repair damage done to the lung tissues.
The Essential Oils that appear to give the most relief for those suffering from bronchitis include: Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus Radiata , Lavender, Peppermint and Frankincense are most commonly used to help lung congestion. Other oils include Rosemary, Rosemary Verbenone, Niaouli, Marjoram, Pine needle , Cedarwood, Myrtle, Ravensara, Thyme linalool
Mix well and gently rub on your chest and throat several times a day.
Blend well and use one of these ways – Put in about 10 drops in a bowl of steaming hot water and let the steam fill the air
Place several drops on a tissue or use in a personal inhaler.
Put 3-5 drops in a Carrier Oil and massage over the chest and back.
This blend is great for children.

If you have chronic bronchitis and you are a smoker, there is probably no Essential Oil that will help to get rid of your cough or congestion. You will need to Stop Smoking so the irritating substances will no longer be present in your airways.
Bronchitis foot rub
Blend all the Essential Oils together in a bottle, then add the Almond Oil. Rub a few drops of this mixture on the bottom of your feet twice a day. Remember to wear socks to bed too. I know this appears strange but remember Essential Oils are easily absorbed through the skin on the bottom of your feet. The Essential Oils then quickly travel through the blood stream to the areas they are needed to help – in this case the lungs. You get slow absorption all day and the Essential Oils will be working for you without having to constantly reapply.

Hair Growth. A subject that is near and dear to the hearts of many. If you’ve never been one with fine hair or watched your once thick tresses dwindle in number you may never understand the feelings of dread and frustration that can accompany the loss of your hair.
Growing up my mom always told me “A woman’s hair is her shining glory” and it’s stuck with me all these years. She was just trying to get me past that pre- teen “I-don’t-need-to-wash-my-hair-it’s-only-been- a-week-or-so” phase but even now, all these years later it’s something that rings in my ears each time I break out the Shampoo (thankfully, it’s now more than once a week!).
While bald can certainly be beautiful, not all of us are ready, willing nor do we want to show off our shiny pates! For those of us who are desperately clinging to the hairs we still have left on our heads and would like to encourage more to stick around for a longer period of time, this month’s recipes have been created.
So now you’re wondering, “Can Essential Oils really work to help grow hair?” Well, a study was performed by Scottish researchers who had half their patients massage a blend of Essential Oils in Jojoba oil into their scalps before shampooing. The other half of the study group only got Jojoba oil to massage on in the same manner. After seven months 44% of the patients using Essential Oils had significant improvement in their Hair Growth. The control group who only used the Jojoba oil showed a 15% improvement.
Scottish Hair Growth Formula
Massage this blend into your scalp and allow it to sit for 15-20 minutes before shampooing off. Better yet, do it before bed and Shampoo off in the morning!
- 10 drops Rosemary (Rosemarinus officianalis)
- 10 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
- 6 drops Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)
- 4 drops Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
Healthy Hair and Scalp Final Rinse
Keep this blend handy each time you Shampoo!
- 5 drops Rosemary (Rosemarinus officianalis)
- 3 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
- 2 drops Sage (Salvia lavandulaefolia)
- 1 litre water
Add Essential Oils to your container of water and shake well. Pour over head working into scalp and through the ends of your hair as a final rinse. Do not rinse out.
Dry Scalp Massage oil
Feels like your scalp had a trip to the spa!
- 10 drops Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens)
- 7 drops Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia)
- 7 drops Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)
- 4 drops Bay (Laurus nobilis)
- 30mls Jojoba oil
Gently warm Jojoba oil (double boiler or microwave) and add Essential Oil. Stir (or shake if in sealed container) gently to blend. Massage into clean scalp and work oil through to the ends of the hair. Wrap hair in plastic wrap and a warm towel for 20 minutes. The heat will allow the oil to better penetrate the hair shaft. Shampoo out as normal afterwards.

Reflexology: Hidden benefits of Reflexology

When a client of mine asked if she could bring her sister, who had learning disabilities, for a Reflexology treatment with me, I was only too glad to concur.
When the appointment day arrived, the young lady’s mother accompanied her and explained to me that her daughter had been born with learning disabilities (she was now in her thirties) and that the only diagnosis that doctors had given her was that something probably went wrong during birth.
My client was very cheerful, did not appear Nervous, but was unable to reply to my enquiries about her health and lifestyle – her mother did this for me, telling me she was in good general health mainly (apart from Rosacea) and that one thing she constantly talked about was getting married!
She loved to look at magazines where there were pictures of brides’ dresses and related details and often imagined herself to be dressed in one. However, emotionally she was very detached from people, even her mother and two sisters.
During the treatment, she was unable to communicate any tender spots on her feet, which were very smooth & unlined, although I encountered several gritty points especially on the head zone and the pituitary and pineal points. She did, however, say that she was enjoying it and loved the feeling of her feet being rubbed.
I gave her a specially thorough post-treatment foot massage because of this. As they were about to leave, the young lady gave me a really big hug and thanked me for the time I had spent with her. I am quite used to this, but was a little surprised to see the look of astonishment on her mother’s face.
The next day, her mother phoned me to say that she had never, ever, seen her daughter give anyone a hug – not even to her, and that was why she had been so amazed at her response to the treatment. She also told me that, during the evening, when her daughter had been sitting up in her bedroom dressed only in her underwear, as she was accustomed to do every night, the mother had called up to her that she was going down to the shop to make a few purchases.
Instead of the OK that she expected, the girl called down to her to wait a moment while she got dressed, and she would accompany her on the walk to the shop. This was so unusual that the mother could hardly believe her ears.
The daughter came down dressed, and walked to the shop and back with her, lacing her arm in her mother’s on the way back. This may sound like a very small breakthrough to many people, but the mother was moved to tears when she was telling me this.
Reflexology treats all the organs of the body through the feet, but not only this – it clears blocked energy pathways throughout the body enabling organs and glands to function properly and in a holistic way. When a blockage is removed from one area, this in turn promotes the free flow of energy to a related area, and so on.
It can show benefits to the physical body or, as in this case, to the emotional body so that the heart can stimulate the brain into alternative ways of thinking or behaving.
The fact that a client cannot tell us what is felt during a treatment, is therefore no indication as to the level of benefit that the treatment can bestow upon the mind, body and spirit.

Add 10-12 drops of a single oil or a blend to 1/2 Cup Epsom Salts or baking soda – or 5 drops to 1 TBSP of Epsom Salts or baking soda. Pour it into a hot bath while it is filling. Soak until water cools.
Apply 2-3 drops of Essential Oil or blend to palm of one hand, rub palms together, cup hands over nose and mouth and inhale vapors deeply 6-8 times inhaling through your nose.
A few drops in a Diffuser (for therapeutic use, cold air Diffusers do not harm the fragile properties of Essential Oils), you can buy electric devices, Candle warmed, ceramic rings to place on lightbulbs, or just use a bowl of warm water.
Using heat to diffuse Essential Oils will destroy Essential Oils, rendering them therapeutically ineffective. Cold air Diffusers gently break up Essential Oils into tiny molecules through micro diffusion thus retaining the integrity of the oils. This process creates a fine mist vapor that floats in the air and can be absorbed gently into the body through the respiratory system. If you’re diffusing an oil only for aroma, an Oil Burner works perfectly. But, if you’re using an Essential Oil or blend for therapeutic benefit, use a cold air Diffuser.
Dilute 1 part Essential Oil or blend with 4 parts vegetable oil (olive works great) and apply 8-10 drops on affected area. Cover with moist hand towel or wash cloth. Cover the moist towel with a dry towl and leave in place for 10-15 minutes. If there is inflammation – always use a cold compress. If there is no inflammation, use a warm compress.
FOOT REFLEX POINTS:
Massage oil or blend with the side of your thumb or reflex tool on the corresponding reflex point on the feet. Use a press and circle motion for 10-20 seconds per point.
RECTAL RETENTION: (only if directed)
Dilute 15 drops recommended Essential Oil(s) or blend with 1 TBSP vegetable oil. Insert 1 TBSP into rectum with a bulb syringe and retain overnight.
VAGINAL RETENTION: (only if directed)
Apply 5-8 drops of oil or blend on a tampon and insert into vagina for internal infection; or apply to sanitary pad for external lesions. Retain overnight.
Run hot, steaming water into sink or large bowl. Drape towel over head, covering hot water also. Add 3-6 drops Essential Oil(s) or blend to the water. Inhale vapors as deeply as possible several times through the nose as they rise with the steam. Recharge vapors with additional hot water as needed.
