Lavender: In a medium bowl, mix 1/2 cup each of coarse salt (such as Kosher), Epsom salts and baking soda. Add 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil and up to 10 drops of the EO of Lavender and stir. Scoop the mixture into a warm bath. Stored tightly in a sealed container, the salts will keep for up to three months.

Rose: For a gentle face toner, soak a cotton ball with rose water and wipe it across your face.

Sage: Cut out a piece of cheesecloth or a piece of a clean old T-shirt and fill it with 1 cup of oatmeal and 2 tablespoons of fresh or dried sage leaves. Tie it tight with a string and hang the bag under the bathtub faucet while the water runs. Float a second bag in the tub if you wish.

Sesame Oil: Lightly toast 1/2 cup of sesame seeds to release their fragrant oils, then place the seeds in a mortar with 1/2 cup coarse salt (such as Kosher) and 1/4 cup sweet almond oil. Grind together with a pestle. Massage the scrub onto damp skin then rinse off. Stored in a tightly covered container in a cool dry place, the scrub will keep for up to a month.

Shea Butter: Buy a small tub of pure shea butter (available at a health food store) and mix in a few drops of your favorite EO and massage into cuticles.

Aloe Vera: Slit an Aloe leaf lengthwise and apply the gel to your clean face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off with cool water.

Chamomile: Scatter loose chamomile tea in a medium bowl and then fill the bowl with boiling water. Place your face 10 inches above the steaming bowl while the chamomile steeps — about 5- 10 minutes.

Ginger: Melt 2 tablespoons of grated beeswax with 1 tablespoon canola oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Grate 1 teaspoon fresh ginger then squeeze the juice through a piece of cheesecloth or clean old t-shirt into the saucepan. Mix, pour into a small tin and let harden. Apply as needed.

Grapeseed Oil: Apply grapeseed oil to fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and lips. Extremely light and absorbent, it temporarily improves skin’s appearance.

Green Tea: Prepare 2 cups of green tea using tea bags. Let the tea steep, and then remove the bags, placing them in the refrigerator to chill. When the bags are cool, lie down and place them on your under eye area for 10 minutes.
