Complete Reflexology for Life Reviews

Review by cathy smith:

I have searched reflexology books for years and have purchased many. This is the best book on reflexology on the market! It includes both hands and feet with detailed descriptions and easy to follow healing techniques. The pictures make it easy to pinpoint locations on the feet and hands. Do not hesitate, this book is worth the purchase!!

Review by Tami Brady:

What a stressful day! If I wasn’t run off my feet, I was madly tapping away at my computer. My feet ache, my shoulders are sore, and I have a huge headache. I am sure glad that I ordered Complete Reflexology for Life because I’m looking forward to a nice reflexology session tonight.

Complete Reflexology for Life is the perfect resource. Even if you’ve never tried reflexology before, this book can show you exactly what to do while explaining what’s actually happening as you work on your feet and hands. All of the instructions are fully illustrated with arrows showing direction of each movement as well as details of which movements to use during different parts of the session. There are also plenty of full colour maps of the feet and hand reflex areas to locate specific body parts or so that you can focus on particular health issues.

In my library, I have other resources for reflexology. Most usually show either the feet or the hands. Complete Reflexology for Life shows both. Moreover, this text includes session instructions for infants, children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. Quite the value.

The Reflexology Atlas

A fully illustrated and comprehensive reference guide to the many different kinds of reflexology

• Provides reflexology treatments tailored for a wide variety of common health disorders

• Contains step-by-step instructions illustrated in full color

Of all the ancient practices that have been revived by the growth of alternative healing, reflexology is one of the most popular. It is easy to learn, can be applied anywhere, and is especially well-suited to self-treatment or the treatment of a partner. It is also excellent for the treatment of children. The Reflexology Atlas is the first comprehensive reference guide to provide an overview of and instructions for the many forms of reflexology–foot reflexology, hand reflexology, ear reflexology, head reflexology, and the total massage known as Shiatsu.

Reflexology provides a quick and effective treatment for many of the health disorders experienced by people in today’s world. Among the treatments included by Drs. Kolster and Waskowiak are reflexology techniques for allergies, joint problems, headaches, back pain, sleep disorders, and heart and circulatory problems. The Reflexology Atlas puts these techniques at your fingertips with its step-by-step instructions illustrated in full color.

The Reflexology Atlas Reviews

Review by Boudica:

First, the presentation. Large format – 13×10 on glossy paper, card cover. Nice. Flipping through the pages, there are numerous illustrations or photos on just about every page. Closer examination reveals how-to photos and detailed diagrams of the material that is being discussed on each page.

So, the book has lots of pictures, but once you get into the material covered, you will understand why this becomes critical. The book is a good “how-to” book on the practice of Reflexology.

The book is written by two German doctors, once of whom is a physical therapist and specializes in reflexology and the other is not just a doctor but also a medical scientific editor specializing in natural healing methods as well as other general medicines. So the book is written by not just practitioners but medical doctors using these techniques in their everyday practices.

As you go through the book, there is much information here. This is where the illustrations and photos come into play. It is sooo clear, so easy to identify and very well laid out. The whole book is put together this way, making it easy even for the beginner to understand not only the concepts, but also how it works. There are figures that are “zoned” with overlays so you can see how this system works.

But there is much more information in here. The book also shows how to work on hands, ears and head. Again, great pictures, very good instructions and well thought out and presented. The book also discusses Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a massage therapy that uses “finger pressure”. It also includes stretching and movement.

If you are familiar with Reflexology and want to know more, this book will provide all you need to know. It is also a good study book for those who want to learn this healing modality. So back to my original impression of the book… Wow, what a book! boudica

Review by Monica Poling:

Broken down into the most basic principles, reflexology is the practice of dividing the body into zones, which can then be mapped onto hands, feet, head, or ears. So for example if your head is giving you trouble, proper attention to the corresponding point of your big toe will help to restore the area’s natural energies, promoting a return to normal health.

Now that I’ve completely oversimplified this ancient practice, if the idea of self-healing has appeal, THE REFLEXOLOGY ATLAS is a fabulous book to add to your collection.

This soft-cover, coffee-table-size book is delightfully easy to use. Not only is it chock full of great photos, it is filled with helpful text as well. Broken down into various chapters, including the reflexologies of the hands, feet, head and ears, the book gives lots of great maps as to exactly what zone of the body corresponds to the reflexology zones. A chapter is also included highlighting the most basic components of Shiatsu massage. The final chapter deals with specific ailments, and a treatment course that can help alleviate some of these symptoms.

The liberal use of photos in this book is really what makes it so incredible. The images not only show where the correct zones are, but also demonstrate specifics in how to apply pressure and massage, and include the necessary right and wrong photos.

In fact this book is so full of great images that it is tempting to skip the text, and just use each picture as the guide. However, lots of great information is imparted in the text as well, making the reading as interesting as the skimming.

Basic Knead Reflexology Sox – Form Fitting Foot Socks for Massage Therapy Reviews

Review by Patrick Moore LMT BA:

There are better maps on socks out there, I am looking at a photo on ebay of some socks with red, pink, and purple zones on white socks, accurate maps of where each of the organ reflexes are. For example, the eyeball that is on this pair is not in the right place, the eye reflex would be on the big toe.

Review by Marina-Inez:

I bought this for my boyfriend and we had a lot of fun with it. He’s not a true believer of Reflexology but admitted that a good foot rub is very relaxing and he enjoyed it much more than he thought. We also made a little game called guess what body part or organ I’m rubbing. lol.

HANDS ON FEET The New System That Makes Reflexology a Snap Reviews

Review by :

I absolutely loved this book because it came with the cutest pair of socks that showed me where to press for different things. I could look up my problems (headaches and PMS) and the book gave me the exact places where I should press. It even worked! The socks also were stretchy enough to fit my husband. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn reflexology.

Review by Phillipa:

This book is good if you a looking for general explanation of the history of reflexology and the ways it can help to improve and maintain your health. However, there is appoloing lack of visual presentations to help you actually do it. I was very disappointing because I ordered this book as the first page seemed to promise exactly that – the book with lots of visuals aids. If you are like me and would like something very practical and visual do not waste your money. Except if you would like to receive free reflexology socks, which are excellent idea.

Feet First: A Guide to Foot Reflexology Reviews

Review by PSMassages of New York City:

This book is wonderfully written. I purchased this book for my introduction class to reflexology.. This book was basically a step to step guide on who to perform a full hour or longer foot massage I really enjoyed this book I learned a lot of useful step about the feet and what each area of the foot repersented in chinese/ western foot mapping. I would recommend this book for anyone ( especially a beginner) that want to learn how to massage the feet.I give this book a eleven on a scale of one to ten!

The Joy of Reflexology: Healing Techniques for the Hands and Feet to Reduce Stress and Reclaim Life Reviews

Review by Atheen M. Wilson:

Okay, so I’m a nurse and dedicated to the medical establishment from which I draw my livelihood! I also have great respect for scientific methodology. That said, I also have to admit to an innate curiosity about alternative approaches to health care, and so when my license needed 30 CEUs for renewal, one of the courses I decided to take was one on reflexology. I purchased The Joy of Reflexology for that course and began reading it with more than a little skepticism. Although it suggested that practicing the art on oneself was less effective than doing so on another subject, I happened to have no one else at hand on whom to practice the techniques, so it was me or nobody. I was totally prepared to pooh-pooh the entire thing as so much bumpkin, when I discovered that the very unpleasant hip pain from which I was suffering at the time resolved and didn’t return when certain pressure points on my feet were massaged as indicated in the text. Since I had been kept awake nights over the preceding several months, turning over and repositioning myself about every half hour trying find a more comfortable way to rest, I can tell you I was fully prepared to eat crow when the massage technique worked! True, a population of 1 isn’t the best statistics, and a test on oneself is hardly the makings of a double blind study. So, coincidence? Maybe. But I got the first uninterrupted eight hours of sleep I’d gotten in months! I’ll take it. Thank you Miss Gillanders.

Review by jen:

This book explores the theory of reflexology which says that by massaging our feet and hands (the outermost extensions of the body) we can stimulate certain body parts. This book includes sections on stimulating every major system of the human body along with tips on relieving certain common health problems. Each movement has an illustration complete with directional arrows so you cant go wrong. This is a great book to read if you want to help your loved one relax after a hard days work. Even if you dont believe in the theory of reflexology the massage movements still make the book worthwhile.
