Altace blood pressure effects

Altace is a medication used to treat high blood pressure. But what are the Altace blood pressure effects? First, blood pressure is a numerical reading of the amount of pressure required to pump your blood through your arteries. The top number (systolic) represents how much pressure your arterial walls are exerting over the blood traveling through them. The bottom number (diastolic) is the pressure at which your artery is no longer putting pressure on the blood.

Altace has been found to have Altace blood pressure effects when its used alone or in combination with other medications, such as diuretics. Diuretics are a specialized medication that are called water pills. They work to decrease the amount of excess fluid that you may be carrying in your blood that will also increase your blood pressure.

One factor that controls your Altace blood pressure effects is a hormone called angiotensin I. Altace is from a group of medications that works on this hormone and is a member of the group of drugs called ACE inhibitors. This will decrease the salt and water retention in your body and will enhance the blood flow in your circulatory system.

Physician prescribe Altace to lower blood pressure as well as to decrease the risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart related death in people who have high risk factors. Altace is also used in patients who have already suffered a heart attack and have possibly developed heart failure. Altace is used to prevent the condition from getting worse.

One very important fact about your Altace blood pressure effects is the fact that you must take the medication regularly for it to be effective. Because blood pressure isnt something that you can feel for the most part, it may be tempting to believe that because youve taken a medication for three months you are cured. Unfortunately it doesnt work that way. Blood pressure is a condition that requires continued monitoring and treatment to control it.

And, because your blood pressure will decline gradually when you are using Altace, blood pressure effects may take several weeks before you receive the full benefit.

Altace blood pressure effects may also have side effects. Some of these side effects can include chest pain, cough in people with high blood pressure, dizziness, and low blood pressure in people with congestive heart failure. Of youve had a heart attack you can experience light-headedness while standing or develop more severe heart failure.

Altace blood pressure effects shouldnt be prescribed if you have a sensitivity or allergy to Altace or if you have a history of swelling in your face, tongue or throat (signs of allergic reaction) when taking similar ACE inhibtor drugs. If you develop any of these symptoms or have difficulty breathing or swallowing your should call your doctor and go to the emergency room for immediate treatment. If you develop stomach pain, nausea or vomiting contact your doctor and go the emergency room ACE inhibitors have been known to cause intestinal swelling that would block the passage of food and waste.

Other Altace blood pressure effects that could be dangerous include difficulty with kidney function, liver function, connective tissue disease, extreme low blood pressure, increased potassium levels, dehydration, sweating, diarrhea and can lower your white cell count that impacts your ability to fight infection.
