Your body is an intricate machine, and like all high-tech machinery, it needs taken care of. If you put cheap gas in your car, or forget to change the oil on a regular basis, the repair bills will soon let you know that you made some poor choices in car care. It is much the same with us.
Your body is not designed to deal well with ridiculous amounts of chemicals you are exposed to or the myriad types of synthetic substances that you are ingesting. Diseases are finding ways around medical science and becoming more prevalent than ever. Many people are starting to get involved in holistic treatments and choosing to stay away from some of the standard medical practices and ‘modern conveniences’ of today’s world.
Sound therapy is something that is being used by more and more people every day, and it something that can help you tune up your greatest resource – your body. It is believed that sound frequencies have the ability to transform our bodies and attack disease at all levels. There are many different frequencies of sound, each of which has the ability to bring about positive and negative changes. Read more...
Use instead of antiseptic ointment, this is far superior!
* 2 ounces Beeswax
* 3 ounces Sweet Almond Oil
* 1 ounce Jojoba Oil
* 20 drops Wheatgerm Oil
* 20 drops Myrrh Essential Oil
* 20 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
(Makes enough to fill 4 each 1 ounce salve jars or 1 ounce metal tins )
A rule of thumb is 2 parts oil to one part beeswax. Simply heat the Sweet Almond and Jojoba oil in a saucepan and add Beeswax.
If you want a thin consistency (such as a cream or Vaseline), add only a little bit of Beeswax. Want it thicker like wax? Just add more Beeswax.
Allow the base to cool down to see what the consistency is like. If it’s too thick, add more Sweet Almond oil and reheat, too thin, add more beeswax.
The immune system is such a vital body system but we rarely think about how important it really is. The immune system is responsible for driving away bacteria, germs, viruses and unwanted toxins.
In the past, the main goal of medical science was to try and cure diseases once they had already taken hold. Things are different today because more and more emphasis is being placed on preventing medical conditions before they develop, by focusing on immune support and immune system boosters.
Making sure the immune system is working at it’s best will help it to fight off unwanted invaders. There are a lot of ways that you can help the immune system so that it will be able to protect you better.
It is important to get plenty of exercise, not only to keep the immune system strong, but for many other reasons, too. Try to do some type of exercise for 30 minutes a day. You don’t have to do the full 30 minutes in the beginning but try to work up to it. Read more...
Ok ladies, listen up. If there is *anything* that most women have in common, it is the following:
1) we want to look the best we can – for ourselves, for our mates, just because
2) we’re suckers for a slick marketing/advertising campaign
3) we’re too busy caring for and worrying about everyone else to pamper ourselves properly
Now….I don’t know about the rest of ya’ll but I can neither AFFORD all the crap that is advertised nowadays as the next ‘miraculous’ beauty treatment nor do I have the time to apply/use them all.
So, where is the common sense approach in all of this? And just so everyone know, every single thing I suggest here I’m going to DO for the next 30 days and report back.
I’m as bad as the next working/busy mom – I do and do and do and fall into bed remembering all I didn’t get done – and doing for myself rarely makes the ‘done’ list.
Let’s take it step by step…. Read more...

Most natural moist hot and cold pads on the market are made of corn or rice – and while these two fillers can be adequate, I believe that pure, natural flax simply beats either of these two materials hands down. Flax is the superior choice due to heat retention, long-lasting heat use after use, neutral smell, high moisture content and in how it contours to your body, unlike the inferior alternative fillings.
Additionally, the moist heating and cold pads on the market today seem to be using a ’shotgun’ approach. This means that they have combined a dozen or more herbs and put them in with their pad filler and expect these herbs to effectively treat many conditions.
The simple fact of the matter is that several of the herbs they include in their moist heating pads have NO therapeutic effect whatsoever when delivered through an herbal hot and cold pad simply because they are either bark or root and need the process of decocting in order to provide the most benefit. I use varying combinations of 3 herbal flowers that have proven therapeutic qualities through their aromas, and several oils which also have proven health benefits to mind and body via the sense of smell.
