Do the words “I want, I need, buy me, get me” sound familiar? For children, the holidays are a time of leisure and joy that evoke family gatherings, elaborately gift-wrapped presents, and winter vacation. Unfortunately for many of us, the holiday season often brings with it the scary gifts of holiday stress and depression. Experts agree – the holiday season evokes more depressed or anxious feelings then any other time of the year.

Immune A-Go-Go Soup

Good enough for dinner any night, this soup is of special benefit for those in the midst of Chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Variations on this soup are a regular part of my anti-Cancer lifestyle.

  • 2 cups beet roots or tops, sliced (parsnips are great too)

Understanding the Nervous System

The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) controls bodily functions not under our conscious control such as the beating of our hearts and the fluctuation of hormones. It is divided into two systems, the sympathetic and the parasympathetic.
