I have been hooked on Afrin more times than I can remember! Since I’ve started using this (putting it on the sides of my nose) at night, I’m Afrin-free and I can BREATHE and sleep without feeling like my head is full of cement. And thank you for providing it in a roll-on - it is so easy to use for me now and it lasts a couple months or more with me using it every night. I LOVE IT!!! Please don’t ever stop making this blend!” - Darla, TN

The Healing Properties of Sodalite

May 3rd, 2007

Sodalite is a member of the feldspathoid group. These Minerals are chemically similar to the feldspars but have considerably less silica, forming from alkali-rich silica-poor melts. Sodalite occurs in a blue massive form which is a popular lapidary material. Sodalite also occurs as a minor constituent in the mineral aggregate Lapis Lazuli.

Sodalite is claimed to have the following healing properties:

Sodalite is said to increase one’s confidence and to enhance creativity, and to have a balancing effect on one’s emotions and mental state. It is claimed to alleviate fear and bring clarity of mind and is a good stone for Psychic Protection.

Sodalite is believed to strengthen the metabolism and lymphatic system. It is also said to enhance self expression and communication, to eliminate confusion, bring peace and to facilitate spiritual growth. This mineral is said -like it’s sister stone Lapis Lazuli- to benefit the higher self. In particular, Sodalite is said to help prevent Diabetes and is useful in the treatment of digestive system disorders.

Vitamin D and Cancer

May 3rd, 2007

by Warren Matthews of Xtend-Life

One of our customers sent me an interesting news item on Vitamin D which talks about the link which Vitamin D has with Cancer prevention. I was pretty happy to get it because it strongly reinforces what I have been saying about how dangerous it is to avoid the sun like the authorities would have you do.

Part of the article focuses on the difficulty of getting enough sun if you live in the upper latitudes. There is no doubt that this can be a problem for those folk living in the extreme northern latitudes. However, don’t underestimate just how much benefit even a small amount of direct exposure to the sun can have on your production of Vitamin D!

You would have to take mega doses of Vitamin D to come even close as to what you get when you expose yourself to the sun…and mega doses of any Vitamin is not healthy.

FDA expands antidepressant warning to young adults

May 3rd, 2007

WASHINGTON (AP) — Young adults beginning treatment with any Antidepressant should be warned about an increased risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior associated with the drugs, health officials said Wednesday.

The Food and Drug Administration proposed labeling changes that would expand a so-called “Black box” warning now on all antidepressants. It would broaden the severe warning’s current language, which applies only to children and adolescents, to include adults 18-24 during the first month or two of treatment with the drugs, the FDA said.

Eli Lilly and Co., the maker of Prozac, Zoloft manufacturer Pfizer Inc. and other pharmaceutical companies said they would comply with the FDA’s request.

“We believe this step will help ensure that the millions of people with depression who are young adults age 24 and under and their families can make informed treatment decisions while minimizing the fear and stigma associated with depression,” Eli Lilly said in a statement.

Crystals Associated with Heartbreak and Healing

May 3rd, 2007

Heart Break is the realization of our greatness. Heartbreak is one of the most trying, difficult and hurtful processes we can go through. Heart break is not just an emotional state but can induce real patho-physiologic feelings of pain in the heart. It has been said that the “most sexual organ is the brain and the organ of most intelligence is truly the heart”. We often think a lot with our hearts.

Heart Chakra Energy

When the energy of our Heart center or Chakra is in balance, we are compassionate, loving, empathetic, altruistic, peaceful, in balance and truly have love for ourselves. When the heart is out of balance in excess conditions, we tend to express issues of co-dependency, poor boundaries with often demanding, clinging, jealous and overly sacrificing tendencies.

When the heart is out of balance in deficient conditions, we tend to become anti-social, withdrawn, critical, judgmental, intolerant of ourselves and others, lonely, isolated and depressed.

Water: How much to Drink? Bottled or Tap?

May 3rd, 2007

by Warren Matthews of Xtend-Life

I noticed a lead article on Yahoo.com today ‘Water Facts: Bottled or Tap?”

The article looks at the often asked question of how much water you should drink and whether it should be bottled or tap water. The article was quite basic but the comments from readers were interesting. Some supported the author’s views and some didn’t.

As this seems to be a subject of interest for many people I thought that I would add my two cents worth. But first, I should mention that about seven years ago I researched this subject very extensively and these are my conclusions:

How much water should you drink?

There is no ‘right’ amount although some ‘experts’ have some pretty fixed opinions. To state a quantity is to ignore the obvious which is different people in different circumstances will require different daily intakes of water. Obviously a 200lb male laborer working in the hot sun is going to need a lot more water than a 105lb female office worker in an air-conditioned building.
