Yogi Tea

Yogi Bhajan’s Original Recipe

Yogi Tea is a health promoting beverage and tonic for the whole body. It strengthens the nervous system, energizes the body, and clears the mind. It is both a remedy and preventative measure for colds, Allergies, and other diseases of the mucous membranes.

The combined Spices create a synergistic healing effect.

  • Black Pepper is a blood purifier.
  • Cardamon aids digestion.
  • Cloves strengthens the nervous system.
  • Cinnamon aids calcium absorption.
  • Ginger heals inflammation and removes physical weakness.
  • Black Tea activates the ingredients.

To make two quarts:

  • Bring 2 quarts of water to boil in a 3-4 quart pot,
  • Add 15 whole Cloves, Boil for 1 minute and watch them dance,
  • Then add 30 whole Black Peppercorns,
  • 3 sticks of Cinnamon,
  • 20-30 green Cardamon Pods (crush or split pods first),
  • 2-3 inches of sliced fresh Ginger root.

Fresh Home: Peppermint Tip

If crocuses are blooming, can sandal season be far behind? We can’t wait to let our feet go free–but first we’ll use this fun fix to slough off winter-dead skin and make them smooth and pretty. No expensive spa treatment can beat this, and it uses kitchen cupboard ingredients like Olive Oil and (believe it or not!) used coffee grounds for fresh and tender feet that are fit to be seen.

What’s Keeping You Up At Night?

Thousands of men and women in America suffer from sleep problems that include trouble falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep or just not getting enough sound sleep. This rest deprivation is wrecking such havoc in their schedules that they are turning to prescription medications to alleviate the problem.

Nearly one third of the population is tormented with Insomnia and last year, doctors wrote almost 50 million prescriptions for sleep medications. Although, these drugs are proven to facilitate the quality and quantity of sleep while they are being used, they are not a cure.

In a large percentage of cases, Insomnia is just a resulting symptom of an underlying issue. It would be more beneficial in the long term to determine the causal factor of the sleep problem and treat that instead.

Although almost any condition can result in difficulty sleeping, some ailments are much more likely to provoke it. Here’s what we found to be some of the most common causes of sleep problems:

Definition

Sound Therapy refers to a range of therapies in which sound is used to treat physical and mental conditions. One of these therapies is Music Therapy , which can involve a person listening to music for conditions such as stress and muscle Tension.

Music is one component of this therapy. Others use sound wave vibrations to treat physical and mental conditions. In general, this therapy is based on the theory that all of life vibrates, including people’s bodies. When a person’s healthy resonant frequency is out of balance, physical and emotional health is affected.

Treatment by Sound Waves is believed to restore that healthy balance to the body. Healing is done by transmitting beneficial sound to the affected area. The healing sound may be produced by a voice or an instrument such as electronic equipment, chanting bowls, or Tuning Forks. Origins
