Reducing Cholestorol Naturally

January 5th, 2006

Abnormities in blood fat level is a contributing factor to coronary Heart Disease. Cholesterol and triglycerides are the two main fats in the blood. Both fats are consumed in the diet but what is not generally known is that cholesterol is also made up naturally in most of the tissues in the body, the exception being the tissues in the brain. A person’s body naturally produces 2,000 mg of cholesterol per day and the average person normally consumes within their diet between 200 and 800 mg per day. The common belief that all dietary cholesterol is bad for you is a myth. Cholesterol is vital for vitamin D synthesis, cell membrane structure, steroid hormone production and bile formation.

Fats are passed into the liver from the intestines where they are then metabolised. This process of clearing the fats can take several hours, if for any reason the cholesterol levels remain high, the excess may deposited on the lining of the arteries causing atheroma which narrows the arteries causing them to fur up or harden which lead to Atherosclerosis the fore runner to Heart Disease.

The steps to combat high blood fats are to Stop Smoking, to take up Exercise such as swimming, cycling or walking, cut out or cut down on sugar consumption, cut down on alcohol consumption, increase dietary fibre especially oats, leafy green vegetables and fruit such as apples and oranges and also the consumption of Garlic and onions are beneficial, coming off the conceptive pill and hormone replacement therapy and finding an alternative to beta blockers and thiazide diuretics. Further measures would be to take vitamin supplements of vitamin C, vitamin E, chromium and marine lipids or even follow a vegan diet with plenty of oily fish.

The following supplements may help if you are suffering from Cholesterol.

Chromium

Fenugreek

Fish Oil tablets

Garlic powder tablets

Marine lipids

Psyllium

Selenium

Soya

Vitamin A

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B5

Vitamin C

Vitamin E

The Exercise That Reduces or Reverses the Effects of Aging

January 5th, 2006

One of the easiest and most convenient forms of Exercise is walking. Different studies have shown that walking for thirty minutes, three times a week, has a host of beneficial side effects. Reduction of blood pressure, a reduction in Anxiety levels, retaining bone mass and weight management are a few of the rewards we reap from walking.

New studies show that walking can also reduce the risk of Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Starting in our forties and fifties, people who stay active by getting up and walking are at less risk for developing these conditions. These studies have shown that walking may even reverse the mental aging process, which allows senior citizens to continue to be mentally alert at a later age.

The latest study from the University of Colorado at Boulder has shown that leisurely walking has the same weight loss effects as walking at a normal rate. Slower walking also reduces the risk of injury. It can be done anywhere at anytime. Slower walking however does not necessarily improve cardiovascular Fitness so an aerobic activity such as bicycling or working on Ellipticals, two to three times a week, is suggested for maximum effect.

These new studies have basically shown us that it is easier than ever to find ways to stay fit. Taking our dogs for a walk can be one of the healthiest activities we have for both ourselves and our pets. Taking our children for a walk with us can be a bonding experience that benefits our mental as well as physical health. Parking further away at the mall for a marathon afternoon of window shopping with friends can be great fun. These are all activities that can be easily incorporated into our lives. Using our creativity, we can find little ways every day to have fun while becoming fit. So, let’s get outside and stroll our way to a better life.

More Meditation Techniques

January 5th, 2006

Vipassana Meditation

Vipassana means “insight” -to see things as they really are, through a process of self-observation. It means insight into your own nature which enables one to recognize himself the cause of suffering and eliminate it.

Method:

It is usually done in a course of 10 days, when the participants refrain from reading, writing, and even talking (except discussing difficulties faced during Meditation with the teacher). Set aside 15 minutes. Find a quiet place. Sit down cross-legged on the floor or a chair with a straight back. Become aware of your breath. Take a mental note of whatever feeling you are experiencing.

Open your eyes slowly after 10 or 15 minutes and get up gradually. Do not worry if you do not get any great insights in your first session. Try to be aware of your senses and emotions and their impact on you.

Benefits:

It is free of rites. Allows one to study sensation in the body like cold, pain, itching etc. One develops wisdom.

Raja Yoga Meditation

Raja Yoga Meditation fills the yogi with super-sensuous joy or bliss which is the highest and the most ennobling experience. The bliss elevates the mind and raises the yogi above carnal pleasures, and moulds his bad habits.

A Raja yogi establishes a relationship with God . He withdraws from all the superfluous and avoidable worldly activities. He spends minimum time and resources on his personal comforts and devotes maximum energy for noble cause i.e. spiritual awakening of his felloe-beings.

Zazen

It refers to zen Meditation as was done by Buddha.

Method:

In this you sit in lotus position with back straight to allow free movement of the diaphragm. The chin is tucked in and the weight of the body equally distributed on both the legs.

Different Types of Skin Rashes

January 5th, 2006

Literally, a Rash means the growth of some red bumps on your skin caused by irritation to the skin. As the effect, the skin may become swollen, itchy and bumpy. Generally, skin Rashes are not contagious and are triggered by external material such as dust, food, dry air, animal dander, certain fabrics and many more. There are several reasons behind the development of these skin Rashes. Some skin Rashes are merely because of the dry Skin Condition, some may be caused by skin Allergies or infection, and some may even cause by the growth of fungus on your skin.

Dry Skin Rashes are the most common Rashes among all. If you belong to the category of those having Dry Skin, then you might have bigger chances of developing skin Rashes because being dry, your skin will be easily irritated, especially during the cold, dry months of the year. Prevent Dry Skin Rashes by drinking sufficient water and apply adequate amount of Moisturizer. Some Dry Skin Rashes are however, hereditary. In this particular case, external environment does not play an important role in causing it, just in triggering it. In the case of hereditary Dry Skin Rashes, skin becomes extremely itchy and inflamed, causing redness, swelling, cracking, weeping, crusting, and scaling. This type of Rashes comes and goes, often for no obvious reason.

Some standard treatment involves simple routine that you need to follow. People who suffer from Dry Skin Rashes or have the tendency to develop Dry Skin Rashes should avoid hot or long (more than 10 to 15 minutes) baths and showers. It is recommended to bath using lukewarm water as it helps to cleanse and Moisturize the skin without drying it excessively. Choose mild bar Soap or non-Soap Cleanser because Soaps can be drying to the skin. After bathing, apply moisturizes onto the skin to avoid dryness. In the case of severe Dry Skin Rashes, consult physician for further treatment.

Another type of skin Rashes is a Rash brought on by contact with a specific material which causes Allergy on the skin. These skin Allergies can be anything from animal dander, certain fabric to poison ivy and jewelry containing nickel. In general, this type of skin Rashes only affects those parts of the skin which comes into contact with the material causes the Allergy. One of the best ways to stay away from the skin Allergies is to prevent it from happening by knowing what causes the Allergic reaction and avoid any direct contact with whatever material that causes it.

Other than Dry Skin Rashes and skin Allergies, there is also a Rash caused by fungal infections. Tough this type of skin Rashes is not as common as its counterpart; you still need to be cautious as both people with good hygiene and bad hygiene can get this Rash. When you get fungal skin Rashes, treat it with some anti fungal cream which can be easily found at neighborhood drugstore.

Whatever Rashes you have, remember not too scratch it, as scratching only make things worse. Just be patient and treat them accordingly, and if things got worse, immediately consult a physician.

Prostate Problems and BPH

January 4th, 2006

If you are experiencing one or more than one of the following symptoms, you may be suffering from an enlarged prostate:

  • Frequent or sudden need to urinate
  • Frequent waking up to urinate at night
  • Weak, variable, or Dribbling Urine Stream
  • Need to strain or push bladder to urinate
  • Difficulty beginning urination
  • Feeling that your bladder never completely empties
  • Pain or burning during urination

Enlarged Prostate (BPH): A Common Part of Aging

It is common for the prostate gland to become enlarged as a man ages. Doctors call the condition Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), or Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy.

As a man matures, the prostate goes through two main periods of growth. The first occurs early in puberty, when the prostate doubles in size. At around age 25, the gland begins to grow again. This second growth phase often results, years later, in BPH.

Though the prostate continues to grow during most of a man’s life, the enlargement doesn’t usually cause problems until late in life. BPH rarely causes symptoms before age 40, but more than half of men in their sixties and as many as 90 percent in their seventies and eighties have some symptoms of BPH.

As the prostate enlarges, the layer of tissue surrounding it stops it from expanding, causing the gland to press against the urethra like a clamp on a garden hose.

The bladder wall becomes thicker and Irritable. The bladder begins to contract even when it contains small amounts of urine, causing more Frequent Urination.

Eventually, the bladder weakens and loses the ability to empty itself. Urine remains in the bladder. The narrowing of the urethra and partial emptying of the bladder cause many of the problems associated with BPH.

Many people feel uncomfortable talking about the prostate, since the gland plays a role in both sex and urination. Still, prostate enlargement is as common a part of aging as gray hair.

As life expectancy rises, so does the occurrence of BPH. In the United States alone, 375,000 hospital stays each year involve a diagnosis of BPH.

What is Prostate Dr.?

Prostate Dr. is a proven, effective 100% safe compound Natural Remedy for treating BPH.

Prostate Dr. is a unique and proprietary blend of three highly effective Herbal Remedies combined in therapeutic dosage, and will address all the major symptoms of BPH and bring fast relief.

Used regularly Prostate Dr. will also prevent recurrent episodes of BPH and Prostate Problems.

Regular use of Prostate Dr. will help to:

  • Assist in male health maintenance and promote bladder health
  • Prevent the occurrence of BPH
  • Promote strong and healthy urine flow
  • Prevent weak and Dribbling Urine Stream
  • Reduce pain and burning during urination
  • Reduce swollen prostate glands
  • Strengthen the Immune System

What About Other Products?

Many Natural Remedies for BPH contain only Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto). While Sabal Serrulata is an excellent tonic for prostate health and can relieve many of the symptoms associated with BPH, it does not reduce the swelling of the prostate.

There are also remedies that use just Beta-sitosterol. This is one of the active ingredients in Saw Palmetto berries and is extracted from the herb in order to treat the symptoms of BPH.

While it is true that beta-sitosterol is one of the main active ingredients of saw palmetto and one that has a significant effect on reducing inflammation of the prostate gland, it is not the only active ingredient in saw palmetto.

Most naturopaths advise against the extraction of only one active ingredient of a herb - stating that it is the combination of many different active ingredients in individual Herbs which makes the most effective remedy and also reduces the risk of side effects.

For this reason, Prostate Dr. has been created with the addition of two remedies to increase the effectiveness of the Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto)- Epilobium Parviflorum and Hypoxis Rooperi.

Clinical studies have revealed that Epilobium Parviflorum has an inflammation-inhibiting and healing effect on acute and chronic inflammation of the prostate and can help to reduce the gland to its normal size.

In addition it has antibacterial properties (Prostatitis may be caused by a bacterial infection) and is useful in the treatment of urinary system disorders.

Hypoxis Rooperi is effectively used to strengthen the Immune System, treat testicular tumors, prostate hypertrophy and urinary infections.

How has Prostate Dr. helped others?

“My doctor diagnosed BPH at the end of last year after I complained of waking at least 3 times every night to urinate. As I always prefer natural medicines, I decided to give the Prostate Dr. a try before considering prescription drugs. I was surprised that it helped so quickly! After a few days I was sleeping through the night again and could urinate much more easily. I can recommend your remedy to any man who suffers from the annoying symptoms of BPH” - Frank, 64 years old, USA

“This really works!”- Stephen, New York, USA

” I think I should tell you that I’ve almost finished the first bottle of Prostate Dr.and I think it is everything you advertised it to be. Instead of a trip to the bathroom every 15 minutes, most of my trips are about two hours apart. I’m glad I found you”.- Ken Wilson, Indian harbor beach, Fl, USA

“Dear Native Remedies, a couple of months ago I ordered from you a bottle Of Dr. Prostate which has had a brilliant effect! I now wish to repeat the order …” -Diane (on behalf of her husband), UK

Prostate Dr. is a unique blend of the following Ingredients

Epilobium Parviflorum: Clinical studies have revealed that Epilobium Parviflorum has an inflammation-inhibiting and healing effect on acute and chronic inflammation of the prostate and can help to reduce the gland to its normal size. It is recommended that all men over the age of 50 take this herb regularly as a preventative and to maintain prostate and bladder health.

Sabal Serrulata (Saw Palmetto): Recent clinical studies have suggested that Sabal Serrulata can be as effective as finasteride in relieving certain symptoms of BPH and in reducing the DHT levels thought to be associated with BPH occurrence

The main active ingredients are the plant sterols (including beta- sitosterol) as well as various Fatty Acids, Together they are responsible for not only reducing inflammation in the prostate gland, but also for the promotion of hormone production involved in maintaining male sexual health and therefore also the health of the prostate gland.

Hypoxis Rooperi (extract of African Potato): Traditionally used to strengthen the Immune System, treat testicular tumors, prostate hypertrophy and urinary infections. The activity of Hypoxis Rooperi against BPH is ascribed to phytosterol glycosides, mainly B-sytosterol.

How do I use Prostate Dr.?

Dosage: 15 drops in a little water three times per day. As a preventative it is recommended that all men over 50 should take 10 - 15 drops in a little water two to three times daily.

Caution: Do not combine with finasteride or other medications used to treat BPH.

How long until I see results?

Use regularly as a preventative and to promote prostate health. In the case of Enlarged Prostate or BPH, You should experience relief within the first week, with continual improvement over a 3 - 6 week period.

How long will a bottle last?

One bottle of Prostate Dr. will last 25-30 days.

What the Mind Possesses, The Body Expresses

January 4th, 2006

Stress is the underlying cause of 85% of visits to the doctor and includes Fibromyalgia, Headaches, and other Chronic Pain syndromes. If this is so and the research shows it to be true then why do we not recognize these stressors? How is it that we let Stress create such problems in our lives?

These questions are being studied more than ever before as is noted in the latest issues of Time, News Week, US News and World Report, National Geographic and a host of other weekly and monthly magazines including O, The Oprah Magazine.

If we understand that the underlying cause of Stress is a mind body connection response to our thoughts and our bodies response to those thoughts then it makes since. Florence Nightingale, in her book Notes on Nursing written in 1859 stated that volumes are now written on the connection of the mind and the body. Even then she declared that if we help the patents to vary their thoughts we help them get better.

So why is the Medical Community so slow in connecting the two. Good Question and not so hard when you think of our fast paced world and how easy and routine it is for a physician to write a prescription to calm our nerves.

As humans we experience daily Stress totally different than say a rabbit in the wild. A rabbit while leisurely feeding will respond with all its senses with any sign of danger. However, unlike humans the rabbit will Relax and go on feeding as soon as the signs of danger pass. It has no thoughts of what just occurred, or what might occur or what could have occurred.

When humans sense danger we also go on the alert. Our heart rate faster, our blood pressure higher, our blood diverted to our arms and legs so that we can fight or get the heck out of Dodge. On the other hand, we humans unlike the rabbit tend to proceed to worry about the “What Ifs.” What if the danger comes back? What if it isn’t gone and I just I think it is gone?

When the “What Ifs” set in we are beyond the protecting intentions of the Stress response and become distressed. We take a thought and turn it into worry, which creates High Blood Pressure, fast pulse, etc.

Read the following and then try the exercise: Close your eyes take a deep breathe and pretend or imagine that you are in your kitchen. Look around the kitchen and listen for the hum of the refrigerator. Walk over to the refrigerator. Did you hear your footsteps? Now open the door of the refrigerator? Feel the cool air as it flows out.

You notice a bright yellow lemon and you reach in and take it out. Pay attention to the size, color, temperature, and texture of the lemon as you hold it in your hand.

Now take the lemon over to where you would normally cut up fruits or vegetables. Take out your favorite knife and slice through the lemon. Watch the lemon juice as it oozes out onto the cutting area. Now pick up one half of the lemon and smell the scent of the lemon.

Now open your mouth and take a bite of the lemon. Taste the lemon juice as it passes across your teeth onto your tongue. Taste the tangy tart taste of the lemon as you feel it in your jaw. Go ahead and notice and then swallow the extra saliva in your mouth.

If you are like most who try this Exercise then you may have noticed a little sour taste with some discomfort in your jaw and/or extra saliva in your mouth. What you created with just your thought was a physiological, biochemical response in your body – yes, just from a though – So the old saying “We are what we think we are is true.” Therefore, change your negative thoughts to positive thoughts and experience the changes in you.

How do I know if I am Stressed?

If you are finger tapping, compulsively eating, biting your nails, having repetitive thoughts you might be Stressed. If you have increased your smoking, drinking or drug use you might be Stressed. If you are absent or being late for work then you might be Stressed.

Prolonged Stress can result in Heart Disease, food cravings, Insomnia, Depression, PMS, obesity Arthritis, Diabetes, and multiple other conditions that are a direct result of uncontrolled Stress.

The most stressful jobs: 1. Teaching 2. Nursing 3. Management 4. Other professionals 5. Social workers 6. Road transport 7. Police and prison officers

On an average workday, an estimated one million workers do not make it to work due to Stress. “Health and Executive Magazine,” claims 6.5 million sick days are being taken every year as a result of Stress.

Stress Reduction

Stress affects blood pressure, sleep habits, nervousness, and confusion. Whenever our bodies are Stressed – whether the Stress is real or imagined – our brains respond as if it is real. Stress, by the way, can come in many forms: an impending deadline, an inability to complete work tasks, or even a verbal lashing from another person. The body’s response is the same regardless of what causes the Stress.

Ten Ways to Cut Down on Stress 1. Talk it out. Get support from family and friends. 2. Exercise regularly. 3. Avoid false guilt. 4. Set realistic Goals and priorities. 5. Avoid perfectionism. 6. Keep a sense of humor. 7. Hang loose. Set aside idle time to Relax every day. 8. Live by the calendar, not the stopwatch. 9. Avoid over indulging in drugs, alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine. 10. Think positively

Taking time out of a busy schedule to Relax is very important. Everyone experiences Relaxation differently so the key is to Relax as best you can. The ability to Relax is enhanced by finding a quiet place, creating positive self talk, listening to soft music, day dreaming, or taking a walk.

Try this simple Breathing technique to Relax and decrease Stress. Blow your stomach out like blowing up a balloon. This will drop the diaphragm down and automatically create a deep breath. More oxygen is able to enter into the two lower lobes of the lungs, which has more blood vessels to carry oxygen to the cells.

Exercise

Exercise is the most widely recommended form of treatment for relieving the effects of Stress and Depression. It increases endorphin release (the bodies natural morphine) along with melatonin (natural sleeping pill) and serotonin (natural Prozac) production, and helps level out blood glucose. Exercise helps us sleep better which also decreases Stress.

Think Stress Control

Skipping breakfast is a bad idea. Starting your day on an empty stomach results in DECREASED ATTENTION and POOR PERFORMANCE. Even if your breakfast consists of something sweet or fatty, which is common, it can still help you get a better start on your workday. It is also true that breakfast eaters are leaner, have lower blood pressure, eat less throughout the day, and are in better health than those who skip the most important meal of the day.

In Conclusion

Stress responds well to Meditation, Relaxation Therapy, Self-Hypnosis Exercise, a walk in nature, soft music, get 6-8 hours of sleep and a proper diet with the right vitamin and mineral supplements greatly decreases Stress and enhance wellness.

Using Natural Remedies For Constipation

January 4th, 2006

There are two basic types of Constipation - Organic and functional. Organic Constipation is a result of some physical change, obstruction, or distortion in your colon. This type of Constipation needs immediate attention from a doctor.

This article only covers Functional Constipation. This type of Constipation is a result of not following a proper diet, drinking enough fluids, having good emotional health and not having a good lifestyle - a lifestyle that promotes good movement of digested foods through the intestines and colon.

Even though there are many definitions for Constipation, Constipation is simply a condition where the fecal matter traveling through your colon remains too long in your colon before traveling out the rectum.

Constipation is a symptom and not a disease. It is a condition that tells you your colon is not working properly or that you have some underlying gastrointestinal disease you are not aware of.

Constipation may be a warning that your diet and lifestyle are causing an imbalance in your body. It is a symptom that many people ignore or that many people try to eliminate by using unnatural and oftentimes dangerous drugstore laxatives.

Drugstore laxatives should be avoided when you have Constipation. They can become habit-forming, damage your colon, and have nasty side effects if used too long. They sometimes have the tendency of creating the problem you are trying relieve - Constipation.

To keep your body in chemical balance, it is important to use only Natural Remedies for Constipation. Natural Remedies such as Herbs and foods bring into the colon those nutrients that can build up your colon and reactivate your natural peristaltic action.

As you use Natural Remedies, keep in mind that one particular remedy may not work for you. You may have to try a different remedy or increase dosage of the one you are using. If you supply what your body needs by using a specific remedy, then you will get results from using that remedy.

Experimenting is part of finding out what remedy is best for you. There are many different Natural Remedies you can choose from. Look on the internet for “Natural Remedies for Constipation” and you will find many listings.

Keep in mind that most remedies should be used only for a short time, two to four days and not longer than 2 weeks. They should only be used for the time needed to clear your Constipation. This might be just 4 or 5 times or sometimes it may take several weeks.

There are some herbal combinations that can be used for longer duration. These combinations can improve your colon’s health and get your bowels moving again.

If you have Constipation, the natural balance and function of your colon has been affected. But, Natural Remedies can bring you colon back into balance.

Miracles Do Happen

January 4th, 2006

Ten years ago I thought I was infertile. Now here’s me, many years later with my two beautiful babies. They were both naturally conceived after years of “trying”. Here’s how it happened…

My name is Carol Andrews, and I’d like to share my story with you. It’s a story of despair, hope, loss, sadness, longing and finally joy—not one, but two miracles!

Ten years ago my husband Lindsay and I decided it was “time to start a family”. We had been married for five years, had saved up and bought our first house. We both had stable jobs. I was 34. My husband was 27. We were ready. We made the decision on our fifth wedding anniversary, 9 September 1994.

We thought it would be easy. After all, we’d put so much effort into not getting Pregnant over the first five years of our marriage. We’d tried out all of the different contraceptive options, since the contraceptive pill didn’t seem to agree with me.

We both had physical check ups. Our GP told us we were both in good health and, despite the fact that I’d left my run a little late, should have no trouble conceiving. I (arrogantly) told my GP I was a very young 34, and we enthusiastically started on our mission.

We were both convinced that it would happen quickly. After all, we were both very goal oriented people. Anything we’d set ourselves as a goal before, we’d always achieved. So we were puzzled when 3 months went by and my period rolled around yet again.

We told ourselves that it would happen when the time was right, and continued our efforts in earnest.

It was only later (years later) that I discovered that many of the things we were doing at this stage were actively preventing us from conceiving and carrying a child.

After 12 months of frustration, the situation was starting to affect our relationship. I was moody and short tempered. I seemed to be frequently on the verge of tears, especially if I was out shopping and saw a Pregnant woman, or one of the endless number of strollers and prams with a cute baby or toddler on board.

What was I doing wrong? How come all these other women could do it and I couldn’t? What was wrong with me?

I started to feel guilty for leaving it so late. I felt guilty for not looking after my body better—maybe if I’d never drunk alcohol? Maybe I should leave my job?

And I started to blame Lindsay, my husband. What if he was “shooting blanks”? Would it undermine his masculinity if he found out? Would he even go for the test?

Eventually we got all these feelings of resentment and fear out in the open. We had a long heart to heart talk, and decided we needed to get some answers.

I’d been putting off going to the OB-GYN for fear of what I’d be told. I had a good friend who’d been going through IVF (unsuccessfully) and the thought of going through the same thing terrified me.

So Lindsay had his sperm count tested. I had an ultrasound and some blood tests to check for endometriosis or other physical problems, as well as hormonal or other physiological causes.

The results, when they came back, were more frustrating that ever: there was no physical, physiological, or biochemical reason we shouldn’t be able to conceive. We, like many couples, had what was termed “non-specific Infertility”. In other words the experts didn’t have a clue. They suggested we “de-Stress” and “have more sex”.

We took a week off and went to the beach. But sex was no longer much fun. It was something we did at the right time because my temperature graph said I was ovulating. Afterwards we’d talk quietly about our fading hopes. We’d try and look on the bright side—just think about all the money we’d save by not having kids. And we’d be able to travel, and go to restaurants whenever we wanted to, and buy a sports car. Who were we kidding? Often after sex we’d just lie together and cry until we fell asleep.

After two years of hope fading to frustration, fading to sadness and emptiness, I knew I had to do something or I would go crazy. I started to research. I read every book, every journal, every article I could get my hands on. I read about western medicine and alternative therapies. I talked to people about new treatments and found out as much as I could about clinical trials that were happening around the world.

I was obsessed. I would overcome this “problem” if it killed me.

I applied everything I learned as much as I could. I was taking 14 different vitamin and mineral supplements every day. My husband was too, as I’d discovered that pre-conception care for the potential father was as important as for the soon-to-be-mother. We were exercising an hour and a half every day. We were eating only Organic foods, drinking 2 litres of filtered water every day, eating meat only occasionally (and then only Organic), and avoiding anything toxic like alcohol or passive cigarette smoke. We had tests for levels of lead in our systems (we live near a busy road, in a 100 year old house that’s full of lead-based paint). I had my amalgam fillings replaced with ceramic to be sure I wasn’t affected by mercury. We even took the phase of the moon into account as I’d discovered something called the “biorhythmic lunar cycle”, in which research seemed to show that a woman is at her most fertile during her lunar peak, ie at the same phase of the moon that was present at her birth!!

My long-suffering husband took all this in his stride. In fact I think if I’d told him we’d be more likely to conceive if we had sex underwater, at high tide, on the winter solstice, he’d have done it. We were that desperate.

On 27 May 1999, four years, eight months and 18 days after we’d first made the decision to try for children, we fell Pregnant. My hands shook as I took the little urine-soaked strip of plastic with its TWO stripes (TWO STRIPES!!!) to show my husband. We laughed. We cried. We calculated birth dates (28 February 2000—would we have a “leap baby?”). We planned. We giggled like teenagers every time we looked at each other. We’d DONE IT!

We knew it was early days, but we had to share the good news with someone! At seven weeks we told both sets of parents. They were ecstatic.

At nine weeks we turned up for the first ultrasound, excited about the prospect of “seeing” our new baby for the first time. We’d already chosen a name. “Eden” was to be our first-born.

Our OB-GYN was a highly experienced specialist in his late 50s. As part of my research, I’d tracked down the “best in the business”. He looked at the ultrasound, and then looked at us, and said “This is not looking good.” My heart sank. I could feel a knot in my stomach and the tears starting. My husband had my hand in a vice grip. “The heart beat is slow and irregular. Rarely does a fetus in this condition last past 9 weeks.” They were words I just didn’t want to believe. I hung onto the next sentence: “Sometimes it sorts itself out, and you may go on to deliver a healthy child, but you shouldn’t get your hopes up.” But the next sentence was what gutted me: “Besides, you’re 39. The chances of you having a baby at your age are very slim. You should have started in your 20s.” Expert he may have been, but tact and bed-side manner obviously weren’t skills he’d honed.

I took two weeks off work, and stayed in bed. It only gave me more time to think and worry. At the end of the ninth week of my Pregnancy I started to bleed. I didn’t want to believe it. I called my husband, who came straight home. We went up to the doctor’s Surgery. With a kind of “I told you so” attitude he carried out another ultrasound, then booked me in for a D&C (Dilation and Curettage, where they scrape out the “products of conception” under anesthetic) the next day. I felt violated. Eden was dead. We asked afterwards if we could at least see our baby (our Eden). We were told by the surgeon that “It looks just like a piece of spaghetti. There’s nothing to see.” We were numb.

I talked to a mid-wife friend of mine, who gave me a small glimmer of hope. She pointed out that at least now I knew I could fall Pregnant. It had taken over four and a half years, but I had overcome a major hurdle. The next barrier was holding the fetus for nine months. She said that with all our pre-conception efforts, we had at least made progress. She said that many women who had a miscarriage were happily Pregnant by the time the due date of the miscarried fetus came around. I found it hard to believe, but I hoped.

It was shortly after that, that I discovered a very important piece of research. I believe now that this was the key that finally meant I could fall Pregnant and carry a baby to term.

I believe that it was the key reason that we now have two happy, healthy, energetic, challenging, wonderful children. And I’m so grateful that I discovered it.

Because once I discovered this critical piece of information, and applied it, everything fell into place…

On 24 September 1999 our daughter Lauren was conceived. She was born on 4 July 2000. She was a healthy 10 pound 7 ounces, and took to breast-feeding voraciously.

Part of the research I’d done said that babies that were born using the method I’d discovered were often healthier, and matured more quickly than other babies. This was confirmed for us when Lauren started sleeping through the night from 2 weeks of age. She said her first word at 5 months (“Hello”—we got it on video). And at three she was already reading and writing with the ability of a six year old.

When Lauren was 17 months old we decided it was time to try for our second baby. I didn’t want to leave it much longer, as by this stage I was 41, and I knew the risks of having a Down’s Syndrome baby, or some other congenital defect, was greatly increased as I got older.

On 5 January 2002 our second baby Jacob was conceived.

This time, it took us only one month from when we made a decision to try, to when we actually conceived.

He was born on 24 September 2002. At 9 pound 4 ounces he was a bit smaller than his sister, but also healthy, hungry, and alert. By nine months of age he was communicating with us in deaf-sign language (a friend of ours taught him, and he loved it!). Like his sister, he’s continued to develop and learn extremely quickly.

So what was this secret that made all the difference? Why was it that it took us over four and a half years to conceive the first time, only to miscarry?

What did we do so differently the next time, that our first child took only 3 months to conceive, and our second child took only 1 month to conceive—when I was aged 41!

Well that’s what you’ll discover in the book I’ve written, “Miracles Do Happen”. I’ve spent the money and the time hunting down this information and I’ve put it all together into one fully downloadable e-book. This way, you don’t have to go through all the hassles and frustrations like I did. It’s all here in one, easy-to-read guide. And you can download it right now and be reading it within minutes.

You’ll get my step-by-step method on how to conceive naturally, without any drugs or outside interference. But not only that, you’ll soon see why the secret I discovered is vitally important to your ability to conceive. Plus you’ll see how to put the secret into practice … so you can follow along and apply it … and actually get the results you deserve (your own little bundle of joy).

Now I know you’re probably thinking “to get access to this information will cost thousands of dollars”. After all, it cost me thousands of dollars and took me hundreds of hours to discover this secret. I read 57 books, and over 85 articles and publications in my research. I spent over 700 hours reading and analysing study after study. I spent years applying what I’d learned. And then I found the secret that made all the difference.

If you’ve been to doctors, or even had ivf treatments, then you know how much people are charging, with no guarantee that what they do will help you.

Well the good news is, I’m not going to charge you thousands of dollars for the information. I’m not even going to charge you hundreds of dollars. And I’m going to give you a 100% money-back guarantee.

I have written in detail, everything we did in my book “Miracles Do Happen”, and it’s yours for just $29. Only minutes from now you can be reading about (and applying) this secret, because “Miracles Do Happen” is an e-book. That means you can pay for it on line and download it immediately. You can literally have the book in your hand in under five minutes.

Here’s how the guarantee works . If you read “Miracles Do Happen” and you’re not convinced it will help you, I want you to let me know and I’ll give you your money back, no questions asked. I can’t be any more fair than that. That way there’s no risk whatsoever to you.

Since I wrote “Miracles Do Happen” a few months ago I’ve had some wonderful emails from women all over the world who have Become Pregnant after applying the things I write about. Congratulations to all the soon-to-be new parents out there!!

I’ve also just expanded the book to include the story of another couple (Paul and Mary Blackburn) who fell Pregnant after almost a decade of trying. Rather than try to describe their journey to you here, Paul and Mary agreed to do an indepth interview. For a whole 45 minutes they describe in detail their fears and frustrations at not being able to fall Pregnant, until they found their own Secret (and it’s different from the one I discovered!). I’ve included a copy of their interview in both audio and transcript, as a special gift to you when you buy “Miracles Do Happen
